She looks really cool. The direction of the whole project sounds wonderful.
Personally, I like the armor plates just about where they are, color wise, although I could also see a number in that drab green or maybe lighteden up a touch with a similar greyish green (or flipflop the colors to green with red number). I wouldn't go for a stripe, as all the shapes & lines are fairly rounded (even her pleated skirt achieves that through the dramatically arcing hem line). That avoidance of straight lines might be something to keep in mind as you construct the base, as well.
Keep up the good work!

Maxx, these guys came directly from China via ebay. They're likely knock-offs as the price was right and there was no official packaging, but I was really surprised at how quickly they showed up. I also got a couple of 1/20 Ma.K ladies that I'm planning a project with later.

Toad, I'll take that as a vote to keep the current color scheme then. I'm thinking something bold and simple on her armor, maybe a V pattern. I'll probably do a lot of the base in a lighter shade of green as you suggested. Afraid the straight lines ship has already sailed. No real painting done today, just finishing up on the base and cleaned up the work area after all of that cutting and sawing before I try to paint anything.

Finally! A bit of progress! I spent a few hours over the last week painting buckles. There sure are a lot of the little bastards to do, and it's a pain trying to get them to look consistent. I also threw some basecolors on the base, but you'll have to take my word for it (no pics). I'm getting there! Trying to finish her up by the end of the month so I can start a hero/villain in July. Having a deadline is already helping! :)

Looks fantastic :) I too have felt the pain of over-buckled minis but it looks like you've managed to paint them all nice and neatly, as others have said, very crisp details

Thanks everyone, unfortunately Raven's going to have to be on hold for a bit while I try to get my Heroes/Villains mini put together and painted. I chose one of the heroes of the Warmachine universe: epic Haley! It's June 30th, and I have to get this pile of bits together into a mini... I feel like I'm a bit behind. Not happy, it's a very rough cast. :(

Tero, although I kind of agree and don't like rushing, I need a little kick in the pants sometimes to convince me to go sit down at the desk.

I had a productive Friday morning. Haley is standing on her base and primed to paint, and I got a little further on Raven. More painting time coming Monday and Tuesday! Hopefully I'll make a good start.
