Hey khonner, it's already been mentioned above but I feel the need to second it. Tamiya clear red is the ticket for blood effects, only way to go! A couple of things to go along with it are tamiya smoke (it's the same as clear red but in black) and a tube of regular uhu glue.

The red on its own is too bright and though it works ok it isn't that realistic. When mixed with the smoke sparingly you get a far more realistic blood effect, I usually use about 1:6 smoke/red. To further the effects you add uhu, this gives some structure to the mix and let's you create dripping blood and lines of blood running between spikes etc. You can do similar effects with all of tamiya's clear line to creat slime, drool, whatever you can think of. I strongly suggest experimenting on sticks and such at first, especially with the uhu. The mix also cures very fast (minutes) so you don't have long to work. Make sure you plan where your going to apply it before mixing.

I really appreciate the tips. I have picked up some of the clear red, but still searching for the Uhu glue locally. I only have found the glue sticks, so I'm thinking that I'm gonna have to order it online.

Yeah. I had to get mine through ebay. Something about toxic blah blah blah, Canadian environmental this and that. PFFfttt! You know it's the good stuff when they have the warnings in Arabic too ;)

Harby has not been kind to me, I think this is the 6th time that I stripped her and restarted. I'm pretty happy with the skin so far. Comments are welcomed! Thanks for looking

she doesn't look all that bad, pretty good actually. You can always tell more when you frame the face with her hair, clothing and lips. This gives a better view of how the flesh looks with the surrounding materials.

I can not give you better tips than Milosh. The skin looks good so far. Will need to see with more of the surrounding colors blocked in.

This is another project that I have been working on.. I'm pretty happy with her skin tone, I was going for a fair-skinned high elf type. As always, comments are welcomed..

This is my first warjack and first real attempt at NMM gold. It still needs some highlighting, Comment away! Thanks.

Man you have been busy! Lot's of purple there. Its a forgiving color. Blue is like that too. Great skin tone on the elf and Harby. The blood on Bette looks very good too.

Man it would melt my brain having this many minis on the go at once! One thing ive noticed is that before you move on to shades / highlights make sure you have a smooth solid 'block' of colour to work from. :)

More done on Fyre this weekend. I started the highlights on her hair, worked on the gold and put her staff on.. I need to fix her eyes, something I'm not looking forward to.. How's the NNM gold? C&C welcomed!

Fyre is looking beatiful man well done. As for the eye's, well I just watched Iguazzu how to paint a face there is a bit on how to do the eyes. It might be helpful. I cant comment on the NMM as mine is pretty average, just remember contrast, contrast, contrast . (10 balls quote for me).

I see you were not able to make her loin cloth fit properly either. I had to do a little filling with putty to make it fit correctly on mine. I think it should actually be a one piece cloth rather than two, but looking at it I think it works ok the way you have it.

Well, I screwed up her eyes, which in attempt to fix, caused her to look undead from the neck up.. So I dipped her, re-primed and started the third attempt.. I'm still working on the skin highlights. Please let me know what you all think.. Thanks.

Oh I am so sorry to hear that. You were so far on her.:disapointed: Cudos for not pulling a hulk smash type fit. When you come back to the NMM just really exaggerate the contrast. She's looking good (again)!

Thanks Zab.. I will definately do more contrast on the NMM gold pieces.. Since her arms are off, I might have better control doing the pieces that are on them, then hit the highlights once they are attached. Plus I should be able to do a better job on the purple outfit. The youngest cat that we have almost lost his life the other night when he thought that she was another one of his toys.. No damage thankfully..

Update on Fyre.. I think I have the eyes much better and the base skin tone complete. I had to fix the apoxie sculpt and I think I got it pretty smooth now. Let me know if you all think I'm heading the right direction.. Thanks.
