Your firefighter looks faaaar better in those pics than in the one in your gallery imho.

Thank you for sharing the pics of the expo. there are a huge amount of miniatures and a lot of them are terrific! So congratulations again ;)

Thanks all.. Yeah 10.. I've fixed that up after seeing it in the pictures. I'm working on the blasted tree and that should finish that base off. Hopefully before the weekend..

Congrats on the bronzes. I'm still upset I couldn't make it. I'll definitely be there next year. Looking through the album I see a lot of great stuff, never saw your fireman before, it looks really good. I also recognize a lot of things from the CB last year.

Thanks Maenas.. yeah, I need to redo that picture in my gallery. Worked on the Lanyssa's base more.. What do you think about the tree? I plan on mounting it directly into the ground without that round base. I think I need to seal the "leaves" with some watered down PVA, I don't want to have bits and pieces all over the place. I need to give the bark some highlights. Let me know what you think.. Thanks.

Hmm now this is pretty darn smacking .. I love what you've done everywhere you've done it!!! Lol if you look at my Xzezbeth I've done the EXACT se thing with the cracked red earth by GW technical paint I think it's called Martian red or something . You've done that here and looks equally impressive.great great job here.

Time for an update. Well, I was right about Kat's 90 day challenge figure.. She got best in category and best in show. Congrats Kat! I managed to squeak out a bronze for my 90 day entry. I was lucky to run into one of the judges on the Sunday of the show and got some good feedback. He thought that my attempt at war paint across her eyes was a bad attempt of OSL, when I told him that I tried war paint, I think he understood better. He stressed that I needed more highlights and fix up the shadows with the right arm. I made some adjustments and I'm going to call this one done. He really liked the overall scene and the story it told., so there's that. I have submitted it for voting and I will post a link to that once it gets approved. The next project that I'm working on is for a friend of mine. I was starting to get a little painting block and I found that if I paint a figure for someone else, it breaks that block. I could just be weird. I told her to pick what she wanted and she came back to me with an elephant. She is big into stopping illegal ivory poaching, which is a good cause. So I looked around and found Mafuku from Kaha miniatures. I figure that an angry elephant man with a stone mallet, hit all notes. The sculpt is fantastic, but I'm not sure if I got the skin right or not.. Could use some help or suggestions with it. Here's what I got so far..

Appreciate you looking..

Voted and commented dude. Good decision to change the tree on the diorama. I wasn't convinced with the smoke effect. The elephant mini is great, wheres he from?

I think that the skin is too flat, that is what is getting to you... It's all grey and neutral, even in the shadows. You can use purple or SW amethyst in the recesses and it needs some warmth too in places. I think andyG did an elephant mini a while back. Take a look in his gallery for placement of the warmer tones :) Actually, have you seen awaken realms painting a werewolf video on youtube? Pretty similar palette...
