Push those highlights a little more! Switch from highlighting an edge to points along the edge. The fur is looking much better to me. I might be tempted to add some really washed out blue to the shadows of the fur. Give it a snowy cold look?

Hey K that's a real improvement, well done. I think what demi means; the highlights on the bottom of the scratches use that same colour or brighter to pick out a few edge highlights.

The fur is looking good too. Go darker against the black and over lap it in to the black lining. I think the gums are too black, that's on your to do list.

Great improvement on this mini, I think you might be experiencing a revelation in your skills now or very soon!

I appreciate it all.. I should have some more WIP up tonight. I'm basically done with the bear this weekend and I have started with this dwarf side kick. For those who are also part of WAMP, the voting thread for my first WAMP Ladder entry is up now. If you have some time, I would like your opinions..

Good work Buddy! The pic's are great, I think you have done awesome transitions of colour in the little guy and the Red Armor looks gnarly and beaten and the red you have done works so well, nice simple bases too. I think this is your best work so far :)

For improvement you often know what you could have done better yourself, What do you think you would like to do better next time?
There are a few things that you could work on/keep in your head for next time, some brighter highlingts on things like claws and black hats, maybe the TMM (If we end up painting the sigmar priest Im going to paint him TMM, this is the guide I plan to use. Iguazzu)

Happy painting

Thanks guys.. Canny - I did some highlights on the black hat with some P3 coal black, which is a very dark touriqious kinda color. I didn't go heavy on it, but looking at the pics, I might have to add a little more. What do you think about the dark leather straps on Lug's right arm? Should I brighten them up a little bit more too?

Got to get me some of the coal black I've heard so much of. Actually can think of a million artistic uses for it.....

Regarding those leather straps, they didn't sit right with me. More so than any other part. It looks like you were either kinda sloppy with the paint, or you black lined with a color lighter than the object. Either needs cleaned up or the black lining needs to be darker. And yes, lighten the straps. Just lighten the center of it, all the way around, since that's the high point. That's what I do, for instance, with the cloth wrapped around axe handles.

Next on the block, a Gladiator from Studio Tomahawk's Jugula line. I'm attempting to replicate Bailey's skin tones and hopefully his bronze armor that he made the tutorial about a while back. I think the skin is basically done, but feedback is always welcomed.. I always thought that the shields were completely made out of metal, but the research that I have done on the net, they actually turned out to be glued wood covered in leather. I might do some battle damage on the shield and I'm not 100% if I will try some freehand on it either. Let me know what you all think.. Thanks.

Looks good!

You should PM Bailey and see what he thinks. He is around and is a really nice guy. I bet he will recommend some more highlights on that skin.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Demi! Khonner actually sent me a PM this morning... I was just slow in responding. As I said, the shading and highlighting on the skin looks good, you're definitely on the right track. I especially like how they turned out on the legs. The arms and upper body could use a bit more highlighting and perhaps develop the shadows on the side (under the sword arm) a little more.

I like where he's headed and look forward to seeing more!

BAMO! Nice looking skin tones, Push em and it will be great! I never knew about the wood and leather shields good to know for when I do a shield. Go for freehand and cover the parts your not happy with Battle damage! Shazam! if you did'nt notice Im pumped, got home from work and every one is much better from winters 1st bout of the flu.
