Khorne Warriors

Ok, currently messing around with some different stuff on my Khorne warriors, now I\'m just experimeting with these guys, so I have a solid scheme to use when the new models are released later this year!

I want something which is darker than the eavy metal teams, and which looks very rusted/battleworn on the armour (main focus armour)

What I\'m doing at the minute is:
Chaos Black Undercoat
Chaos Black and Scorched Brown 1:1
Then a wash of Scorched Brown and Chainmail 1:1 quite heavily watered down
Then Scab Red and Scorched Brown 1:1
Then on the more sunlit areas, and areas a little less roughed up I\'ve used plain Scab Red
Not sure what to use for a highlight

I\'ll try to get some pics up when the models are finished, but some other mixes for what I\'m after would be good. Though I\'m not a very skilled painter, so nothing too hard, like NMM or anything :p

Also If anyone can give me a good way to do white fur, I\'d greatly appreciate it.

C&C please :)

Your dark red recipe sounds fine to me - if you\'re wanting an extra level of highlight for edges, why not just use thinned blood red?

As for white fur - any browns (your preference) working up to bleached bone should work fine

It sounds weird to me to wash with chainmail. Normally at least i would want any metal bits to appear along the edges of the armour, not in the recesses.

well i am adding it to the edges too, its just that rust tends to get into the places which are recessed, but correct me if im wrong :]]]]]

Rust will origininate in recessed areas, but any heavy indents and water runs will develop rust streaks along the lines where the fluid runs.
Adding chainmail to scorched brown, to me at least, doesn\'t signify rust; as rust can vary from extremely dark brown (in some cases Purple-Brown) through to almost orange dependant on the levels of contaminants or most recent oxidisation \"bloom\".

Maybe vary the rust to show they have been warring for a long time. Maybe have a nice mix of the more orange rust in places and deeper rust elsewhere.

Just as a point of reference for colours maybe just google search rust and use the first few examples you see.

any pics yet?
