Here is a link for the Folklore:The Affliction game. these guys have done Kickstarters before, and never fail to impress.
There are several levels to commit to, but at the $299 level (the one I am in for) you get 175+ miniatures!!! Thats less then $2 a piece, for fine-quality fantasy stuff!
But wait! There's more! (Sorry... couldn't help myself). Its actually a game! A GREAT game! It emulates a D&D-style adventure without the need for a DM, so everyone can play! As mini-enthusiasts its a great deal just for the minis, so for you guys, think of it as getting a SLEW of gaming material FREE with all those juicy miniatures! You can see some of those sculpts up-close on their press page - Greenbrier Games Inc.
Now for the disclaimer: I am NOT part of Greenbrier Games, or related to anyone who works for the company. However, I am the Art director for TEGG publishing, which is planning to do a series of novels based in the setting... so expect further support down the road! So although I currently have no personal gain in this Kickstarter or that company, I hope to be giving out art assignments based in the setting as we begin publishing stories set there. And by the way, for those of you who think you have what it takes to work for a creative new endeavor, look into the TEGG group as well. We already have a bunch of great authors lined-up, and there are currently 15 settings to choose from! As of right now we are not doing miniatures ourselves, but we have several affiliated companies that are doing so for some for the settings. Eventually I would love to do a line of miniatures based in their primary fantasy setting, (codenamed: PIA for now), and we are discussing that (I am the cartographer for that setting as well, and will be doing all the novel covers).
So have a look at some of those links, and even if you aren't tempted by that massive pile of minis in the Kickstarter, read through some of the other stuff and see if anything interests you, as either a fan, or a possible future contributor.
