[KS] Modular Fantasy Terrain - Battle Systems - LAST HOUR - SCI-FI AVAILABLE AS WELL
The second kickstarter run by Battle Systems (www.battlesystems.co.uk) is well under way. Following on from their very successful Sci-Fi modular terrain kickstarter that funded at he back end of last year, they have launched their fantasy range. Take your dungeon crawls to a new level - literally! Modular, massively reconfigurable, lightweight and easy to store, their terrain is manufactured from high quality cardstock, pre-printed, and die-cut. All you need do is pop the bits out of the sheets they come on, and start slotting things together. It's easy, it's fun, and it looks awesome. No more flat boardgame tiles - think outside the box and have your adventurers going up stairs, along walkways, through rooms with sewers or lava channels, into mines, and (with more funding) much much more.
With 10 days to go, they have much more in the pipeline to offer. Having been a backer of their sci-fi terrain, which I now have in hand, I have to say it's brilliant, even better than it looks in photos. I jumped back into this one the instant it was launched, and judging by the fact that it funded in 13 minutes, plenty of others did as well. I thoroughly recommend that you take a look. Colin and Wayne, the two guys behind Battle Systems, are perhaps two of the nicest guys working in the industry. Immensely passionate about their product, it's rare for a day to go past without them putting time into the comments page, where they talk to us about their ideas, listen to our ideas (and have been known to impliment them - a huge portion of the sci-fi was designed based on backer suggestions), and generally hang out with us. Never frightened to share information, they were so heavily into keeping us in the loop during the sci-fi kickstarter that we even knew the name of the container ship bringing the goods from China and were able to track it around the world! They've also never been shy to share details of problems with the backers, when they arose. I know of no other KS that has come close to the level of communication these guys have maintained.
