Kind of new here...

Well, I think you\'ve reached the point where you have all the necessary skills, to push it higher all you need to do is tighten everything up.

By that I mean neater freehand and smoother blends.

To get a higher score here, you need \"wow\" factor, things like conversion work, intricate bases, fine detail, anything that makes others go \"wow!\".

Welcome to the forums and \"Coming out\" so to speak. I\'ve had a look at both of your posted items you mention and agree with Trevor.
The Clan War Crane shows some very good freehand work, but the pics are a little fuzzy.
The Wolfen has a really nice dark look to it, and the Faux Fur effect complements it.
IMHO the highlights need to go just another stage on somethings like the bone decorations on the chest.
Overall it\'s just the getting of the \"WOW\" effect that Trevor mentions that will make the differences.

BTW don\'t take the scores too seriously, it really is the comments that matter in the long run.

lots of talent here, but also some room for improvement. And remember that the photo quality also makes up a lot of points on this site :)

Welcome!

I\'ve said it before, I say it again: the face is most important. The geisha\'s face looks weird, her left side(eye and cheek) seem distorted, that\'s just bad.
Also sharper pics on the first and bigger one\'s on the second mini would help your score.
The Wolfen lacks some colour contrast. The different browns are all very similar which makes the mini kind of boring. Try some colour variation.

I like the kimono. I have a soft spot for lizardmen and Clan War miniatures. Well, they haven\'t kicked me out yet, even though I act like the drunken Irishman I am on a daily basis.
