Finished this one up. I'm pretty happy, but I could still hear more tips! Thanks for all the help.

Looks amazing! Ohhh remember the times I tried to improve my paintings the way you did? I fail:p Finishing up a lizardmen skink champ, you'll see it when I upload it.

Thanks guys!

A Luna- I don't know about that! Look forward to seeing the skink champ.

I still think I need better pics! It bugs me as I can get better light in my basement with my single OTT desk lamp then I can in the light tent with the big ole' 250W daylight bulbs. I think I need a camera buddy to come over my way and help out.

Much appreciated. I worked hard on this one, and I look forward to the next one I get to spend as much time as I want on. Pretty fun!

I paint my thumb.
Good job Scott!
Already commented on this, final result is really up to expectations, your best work so far as you wanted it :)
My only crit would be the pics, which are somewhat unsharp... a trifle really, as we can still see the awesome work you done.

Congrats on getting him completed Scott :good: and good luck with the auction/competition :)

Slightly muddy photos don't show off all of your careful paint perfctly but regardless, high 7s for me, have an 8.

Cheers, B.

Nice to see him finished Scott, neat job :good:.
Not sure about those picture, I think you can wait a bit and get better photos before posting him, because honestly those pushed your perfect paint job down a bit.

Wel look's like it settled in at just over 8.0 for a score. Pretty cool, my best ever. Thanks to everyone for helping me out along the way. I'll try and get better pics and resubmit at some point too!

Oh yeah, and some really encouraging comments on the submission too! TY everyone!

Not bad! :) Overall I think this is a nice paintjob and some parts look really great, like the trousers. A tip would be to really examine the miniature and look at what parts are strong and weak in the sculpt. The torso for example doesn't look that good and that you have defined every muscle does not help this. If you would have done that painting a lot softer with little shadowing this would not show up as much. You can also to take it to the next level correct the anatomy somewhat with the paintjob looking at references and essentially better the sculpt.

That's really interesting Avelorn!

I think part of the problem too is that I couldn't really tell you what makes for a realistic sculpt or such. It's just something I have NO eye for. Years of reading Comic Books does NOT help me in this regard. Also, the self image goes into the shits after reading the latest issue of Thor too!

But still something very notable. If part of the mini doesn't appeal to me, don't bring focus to it. Makes sense but still something I wouldn't have automatically think of. Thanks!

Also it's nice to get advice like this now instead of the "Thin you paint, jackass!" stuff I needed to hear a year ago.

TY guys!

I took some better pic's and resubmitted him. Normally I wouldn't worry about it, but I need the mini to look as good as possible for the Little Angels charity auction! I hope the pic's look better...

Don't at all feel obliged to re-vote, I know that's a pain in the ass and everything. I really appreciated the comments I got originally. Very encouraging! TY Gang!

I prefer the newer/re-shot photos looks much better the vains on his arm don't look so luminus in these shots :)

I think you could do with running a bit of brown ink into the rope work though to make the ropes stand out a bit more.

Nice work altogether though :)
