Kingdom Hearts Cloud Conversion help

I'm actually surprised no one has ever attempted it aside from me- I've been searching for more than a decade now, but to no avail...

When FFVII first came out, I actually made a conversion of the almighty Cloud Strife... and then lost it when my family moved to the suburbs...

And after a decade of crying and lamenting it, I decided to try and make it again- better, and in the Kingdom Hearts style.

Thing is, I've been out of the hobby for more than 10 years and just about 2 months ago, got back into it with a cousin of mine...

My question, if any of you have any experience doing it- hell, even ideas- is for the buster sword's bandages. I need it thin, uniform (to be aged and damaged by me) and easily controlled- as you can see, the strips are not uniform, not to scale, and look pretty bad, to be honest. You can see it being built- I stripped the putty from the buster sword because the bandages didn't look right...

While I would like to entice you all with a picture here, I'm pretty illiterate with computers- and the pics I have are much too large to insert here.

Check it out on my personal blog http://www.hficreations.blogspot.com/

Any feedback would be appreciated!

I don't see any picture of the sword, but one thought would be thin paper. I don't think printer paper would work (although it might) as it is probably too thick. Tissue paper is probably too thin. Maybe hit the craft store for something thin enough, but also thick enough.

Basic technique would be to soak the paper in PVA thinned with water, then wrap the sword. I think you'd need to seal it after that, but I can't recall offhand with what. Maybe someone else can jump in?

Whoops. Sorry about that... that... was pretty stupid. Let me put them up and you'll see what I mean. I'm thinking about paper too... or maybe gauze? Maybe the adhesive stuff to more-expensive bandaids?

Just read a bit of that link- looks pretty good! Might even look into using it for the back-end of the cape too!

I should probably transfer this thread to the WIP thread instead. Thanks for the help. I'll put the finished product up later.
