Knock off Minis?

I was playing around looking for some new minis and came across Alnariel Night Elf on Ebay. A couple of things strike me as odd. It is half the price as on coolminiornot (sold out).
It also looks like it direct ships from Thailand. I don't want to buy knock off mini's . Much rather support the artists who design them. Anyone know if these ebay mini's are kosher?

as for supporting the artist: as soon as the figure is not limited or at least available from time to time in shops (like KD does it. First a limited edition run, then from time to time an encore batch to help those who couldn't get it)

Problem is that knock-offs are commonplace now. They pirate everything from CMON, to GW, and even Kingdom Death. Most of these, the location gives them away - Russia, Chiba, and apparently, now Thailand, are havens for recasters.

Although there was a Greek chap in Athens doing this. I don't know if he got shut down.

Where's it coming out of? Half the price from the eu or China and I can pretty much garuntee it's a recast.

They don't show the pics of the actual resin cast itself, but it looks suss. My money is on it being a recast. One of the ways you can tell is the double mouldline on the model. Then the Chinese guys caught on to that and started filing them off for you. Now we look for the file marks .

yep that is a recast for sure. It's coming out of Thailand fro half the price. Don't bother, lots of recasts are fine but very brittle and frankly you wont know until you get it. Best to deal with the company that actually makes it because if you have a problem with it they are more likely to help you out. Many companies will even send a whole new mini at little to no cost if there is something wrong with one of their casts.

recast for sure. Especially as Andrea minis are metal, so even material gives it away.

And while it may be sold-out on the CMON store, it's available directly from the producer, so even better support on the creator.

Yes that is a recast. The original is metal and a beauty of a figure from Andrea.
