From what I remember the Master Series, which you can\'t get now, wre basically W&N series 7 repackaged (and more expensive).

Well, I tried many type of brushes... from China to Japan to GW to Vallejo.
Overall I found that Vallejo Kolinsky are very good coz it always retain its sharp point but its a bit hard to control the color flow in it. It tend to release a lot of color out and unable to suck it back. I don\'t find it suitable to paint clothes or armor.
Another type is Vallejo Round Synthetic are also quite good and price cheaper than Kolinsky. But the bad side of it is that the head will bend after long use. Somehow I use it to paint clothes and armor coz you can control the color flow easily and do feathering.
As for GW brushes, it is quite the same with Vallejo Synthetic. I would say the quality of it a in between Kolinsky and Synthetic.
I haven\'t try the GW master series brushes yet and I don\'t know its worth buying or not. Plus the price is very expensive too.

No It\'s not. Basically they are re-badged Winsor & Newton Series 7\'s with a serious additional mark-up on them.

yep, i got mine whilst i was still staff as it worked out that i got the brush soap for free with my discount compared to going to an art shop and buying all the pieces from there.
rosemaries brushies are supposed to be rather nice and a damn good price as well if you are in the UK.
i\'m sure james will pop along and put a link up for her.

I haven\'t tried many brands of brushes but I currently use Winsor & Newton Galeria and Daler Rowney Cryla brushes for \"proper\" painting; for dry-brushing and slapping paint over large areas I still use my old Games Workshop/Citadel brushes, in fact I probably use them more than the good brushes.

Winsor & Newton brushes??? 1st time I heard of it. Anyway, I would love to try it out. Any website that I could order it?
In my country Malaysia, only few art shop available and mostly sell brushes from China & Japan. Its a very bad quality but very expensive. Call it a cut-throat price. :cussing: I order brushes online from Maelstrom Games.
