Hi guys!
It's been a long time since my last update, but atlast I managed to get me some painting time. Been painting my Mortarion for several hours now and here it is so far.

Cool stuff back to the first post. The Mortarion however, is super cool! I really like the feel of the parts overall. Looking forward to seeing more!

Hi!
It’s been a long time since my last post, haven’t painted that much. Few days ago I thought that I have to finish even one mini by the end of this year, so I started my Lord of Blights.

I like your base. What did you use for the rock/dirt look?

Rock is made with multiple layers of cork board, dirt is Army Painter battleground. Painted the rock part with dark gray, drybrushed with light gray and then added various shades and inks to get some color variations.

That cork board looks like volcanic rock the way it broke apart. Makes me think of a few ideas for a dragon I have. I've never worked with cork before. I guess I'm going to have to buy some next time I'm out. Thanks for the info!

Progress!
Rockgut: Skin basecoat on body, tested one foot to get an idea of them limbs. Rocky texture on this guys back, arms and legs almost gave me nightmares. Repainted with different scheme like four times until I was happy enough, nearly glogged the details.. But in the end it came out decent.
Mortarion: Some basecoats to get a visual of the paint scheme in my head. :D Not sure about the wings, might redo them or add more highlights, shadows and texture. Note to self, next bigger miniature project: make smaller sub assemblies.. :p

Loving the colors you have going on Rockgut. The rocky texture came out great, well worth the effort I reckon. And the reddish texture on the skin and feet contrast nicely with the rock.
