Kreig Commissar & Lufgt Huron

Nuisance to clean the lufgt cast wow... so, cleaned, washed, drilled, corked, white undercoat and chardon granite second base with the airbrush for the both of 'em, lovely jubbly.

Plan is to keep the commy dark and broody, flash of red either on the sash or lining of his coat. Lufgt will be steel armoured with gold trim, and blue bits here and there much like the FW version. He comes with a decorative rock to stand on which will be used, but I'm not sure on the base colour/theme, suggestions would be great as I'll do it last anyway. Commies base will be typically ruinous city mess, lots of scrap and debris, kind of place you'll need a TB jab after going.

Hoping to complete both by this weekend, game on!

1st crappy rushed pic to get the jist of it;

Made a quick start on the commissar to see how the colours of the coat, uniform and red will sit together, shakey phone shot ha. Better leave it and sleep before getting too into it.

Woo it's that boss looking termie bloke! The commissar is coming along nicely so far, i'd even go so far as to say "it be bitchin, yo" just so the kids could understand what I think of it. I'm home with the downies.

Look good so far. Both minis I have wanted to paint for a while so will look forward to seeing what you do with them.

Aye, will be able to put a couple hours work in later when the mrs wakes up, my shift with the new baby at the moment, hoping fingers crossed to finish the parts I started on the comm and have all the gold parts on both figs done for next pic :D

Easily my favourite comm model too, only planned on buying it but saw the Lufgt fig and impulse bought lol.

Didn't make as much headway as I'd of hoped /sadface, got a portion of the trim started, still to play with the contrast of the gold but I am le tired, camera doesn't really help making it look abit washed out but I think the pics will suffice for WIP, will borrow my sisters camera for finals as it's much much better :weep:

Really nice start....I just subscribed to this thread.
Really interested in watching the NMM come to fruition.

Nice start indeed. It already looks like very nice colour and tone buildup, both on the commisar and the terminator.

Cheers fellas :wink:

Updateski, progressed Lufgts gold abit :turtle:... leaving it for now, plan tomorrow to block abit of colour in to see how the gold sits with it and adjust it later if it doesn't work.

Started commies gold, so bloody fiddly especially the coat trim and cuffs, hope to finish the gold tomorrow and start the respirator pack and power sword.

what they said only with a little coolio for good measure, paintings not my thing so forgive me if you think im wrong but i would paint the sash a different colour/shade of red as it seems to look like the red leather collar n cuffs unless thats your intention. its not meant as a critique just an observation.

i would go a darker red scarlet or something but thats just me

Lol it's alright I'm totally open to critique, to be honest, I was going to do either the lining or the sash red, but ended up doing both, I don't really want to use too many colours and keep him quite monochromatic as a commissar with that contrast of bloody red and creamy grey mask... descisions, decisions :question: I'm prone to just diving in and going with the flow, changing my mind and altering as I go, often come back to a piece the next day with fresh eyes and redo/change things so we'll see :D
