Hello,

http://coolminiornot.com/247725

I have 2 of my Krielstone scribes finished and wanted to share. I am painting an army for myself finally and these are the first couple minis finished. I am just about finished with the entire unit and will post some extra pictures in a couple of days. :) Thanks for viewing.

Also you may notice that some of the blends look sharp. This is because I am trying to work on creating textured surfaces. I tried making some of the cloth surfaces look like they were thickly woven. I am still trying to work out the kinks :)

Nice and smooth blends, and the metallics look realistic. The only suggestion I have is the outlines of the fingernails are a bit too dark for my taste. This army is gonna look great! Keep it up my friend! :)

wow they're cool never seen those before, where/who are they from? Also how did you do the cowls? thats the exact colour and style of leather I was trying for the other day and completely failed. How did you lighten the base colour without it looking dusty?

Hello Twosoc! These are privateer press minis from their Hordes range. The cowls were painted with a base of P3 bloodtracker brown, highlighted by adding small amounts of P3 menoth white base to the bloodtracker brown until I was satisfied with how it looked. The cowls were shaded by adding P3 battlefield brown to the bloodtracker brown. Further shading was done by adding P3 coal black to the previous mix.

To help the highlights from looking "dusty" I add a little vallejo matte medium to my mixes. This helps suspend the pigments and helps improve the coverage of the paint so that the paint will not look too streaky or dusty. I do not use it for everything, only for colors I know are going to give me alot of trouble. Hope this helps! If you have any other questions feel free to ask :)

The paint job is great! Not so much a fan of these particular mini's though. I DO like some of those Trollblood mini's. I've had to paint a few for other people and I might pick up one or two to try. I liek the metals a lot. Well done!

Lovely work on these! Solid 8s for me. I agree with Elly3438's comment about the nails though, seem a little over-contrasty.

So good. How did you paint the hoods and the leather/cloth shoulder pads?

Hello Arma. The hoods were painted with a base of P3 Bloodtracker brown. Shaded by adding P3 Battlefield Brown to the base coat in small amounts until I was happy with the shading. Then a final shade by adding a small amount of P3 Coal black to the previous mix. The highlighting was done by adding P3 Menoth White Base to the base coat in small amounts until I was happy with the highlighting. Hope this helps.

Hope this helps!

It does indeed thank you. I'll try to replicate this with my game colour. I always wondered what the glaze and matte mediums were for, I guess I'll have to experiment.
