land and sky technique

any good suggestions on a way to practice this technique chrispys article is fantastic,but i just wanted to have a few thoughts on what i should focus on why i practice

Hi, although I\'m yet to try this technique I\'ve mentally mapped it out ready for a future project. Obviously the sky & earth must be horizontally level on whatever weapon/armour your working on. So far I\'ve been pretty impressed with the chrome effect produced by Arjay & Kuromaru. I think you have to blend a mid tone-sky blue down to almost white to represent the sky, and then paint a mid tone/earthy brown blended to a lighter brown at the bottom. The lightest part of the sky joins/meets the darkest part of the earth. I hope this makes sense. There is a great article on this technique in the \'Articles\' section @ CMON by Honza and he kindly directs you to further links on the Earth/Sky NMM technique. Knowing your theory helps. I don\'t claim to be able to acheive this effect but like you I hope to one day. Enjoy...

Last time on......

any good suggestions on a way to practice this technique .

I\'m currently trying Sky/Earth NMM and rather than waste a mini (tight git!) I\'m practising on pieces of primed offcut plasticard.
I\'ve used this idea before when I first started doing gemstones, and as always start large and practise getting smaller. (I\'m sure that theres a joke in there somewhere):flip:
