Large scale base question.

After a good amount of tinkering and beer drinking and profanity I was finally able to mount an Inquisitor scale model on a chunk of rock. The problem is now how do get the rock afixed to the base.

Is there a good modelling clay or easily mixed epoxy someone could recommend? Or possibly a good trick? This is my first large scale non-building/vehicle venture and want to do it right.

I\'ve managed to build sections of the base...

The base is essentially three sections of sandstone, clay, and slate. Any recommendations on what to use to glue it together? I was thinking possibly wood epoxy or wood glue then just fill the gaps with the old green stuff. I really don\'t think that superglue will work the best. This project has turned into a real head scratcher for me.

try a 2 part filler, there is one for wood and one for cars but essentially they are the same thing. the more hardner you put in the quicker it goes off (2-15 mins). just \'butter\' each stone and squish \'em together.
Just before it sets rock hard there is a point where you can cut away the excess with a sharp knife/scalpel, use a new blade to avoid slipping and self-harm

Two part glue probably the best just remember to support the model in position while it dries..
I generally use two pieces of polystyrene cut to shape and sandwiched around the base and held with rubber bands to support models in this way..

its heavier but may be easier to sculpt
