Large scale models?

I am sorry if this topic has already been discussed on the forums but please.........

Where do you get really nice large scale fantasy/historical minis from? I am talking 54mm plus. To the scale of Fire fox studios and the like.

Does anyone have any links?

And yes I know of J J Models and whilst nice their *cough cough* fantasy minis are limited as they tend to concentrate on shall we say their other ranges.....

I really want to collect and paint something larger and more challenging so please point me in the right direction

Thank you!

Hi Gelfin you may want to try these out,

http://www.andrea-miniatures.com/

http://www.pegasomodels.com/home_en.asp

I have some of there Historical minis and they are realy good.

Since you mentioned 54mm I might as well point out GW\'s Inquisitor line as well as Spyglass Miniatures 54mm line which you can find in the CMON store.

Have a look a Tod MacFarlane\'s Spawn series. They are around 6-8\" tall and are a serious challenge to anyone wanting to paint something different.

Philippe (on here) has done a couple of really good large scale figures : Philippe\'s Gallery

But If you do a search for Garage models on Google you\'ll fiond some good, nay great stuff. (with matching costs of course).

There are a lot of great manufacturers of larger scale models out there:
not sure where you are in the world Gelfin, but if in US, this is a reputedly good source of 54mm+ military miniatures:
Red Lancers
or UK:
Historex Agents

By the way, I managed to get hold of the \"Slaine the Horned God\" figure from ebay seen in Philippe\'s gallery - it is huge!!! 12 inches +!

Are you talking about just the \'action figure toys\' or is there another line of stuff?

Another great resource for these garage kits is this website

http://www.amazingmodeler.com/

I subscribe to the magazine and it is always filled with eye candy and very different larger scale models (plus tons of ads for people who sell them)

Definately worth your time.

@Supervike:
Yes I was talking about the action Toys as I have got a couple (Philippe\'s fault he set me off drooling). They do offer a very different challenge to painters due to the very well defined surface texture.

Thank you

Hello everyone,

Thank you for the advice, Pegaso looks good. I am definately going to be getting one soon as I am running out of stuff to paint ??? I look forward to painting a larger scale as I have never done anything big......

but I am making a list of the others as they offer some different stuff, that way if I get hooked on painting larger scale I have a larger choice...

Hey Carla,

I\'ll be carrying Pegaso within a week or two so just let me know what you want before I place the order and I\'ll add it on if you like.

Laryssa is sat on my desk, I\'ll package her up with the Khador battlegroup for you to put your brush to :)

Pegaso are excellent I have done a couple of their large scale Romans, Andrea are good they do the best IMO Roman model of all time the Quadriga racing chariot which is a feat to assemble in itself.
I am waiting for my Carthaginian war elephant to arrive as that looks a real challenge as well.
