Another day, another step closer to finishing my 120mm Terminator. Started to add some decorative elements. The chest Aquila as well as inquisition was insignias to the pauldrons. Also started sculpting Aquila’s on the forearms. Lastly started adding what will be a leather wrap to the hammer handle. Still need to finish the hammer and decide what if any other decoration to add.

Thanks Krule, and Bullfrog. And a hat tip to you Meph, it wouldn’t exist it I hadn’t seen a picture of your Blood Angel.

Progress today, I started on the gold details on the Pauldrons so they look less like half an egg. Started on the hammerhead and after many (I lost count) coats I finally got the main armour a shade and depth I am happy with. I also added an insignia to the right knee which fell off one of my other builds. C and C welcome.

Fantastic job!

Could you please tell me how did you do the white of the pauldron?

thanks Lone Lemming

here is a picture of the paints I used in order from left to right.

apply the base colour from lightest to dark. Once dry used the crackle medium (heavy coat seems to work best). Leave overnight to dry in a warm place. Once dry apply a thinnedwash of oil based paint (it must be oil based as any water based paint will dissolve the crackle medium) the wash will run into and bring out the cracks. Wipe most of the wash off with earbuds and kitchen roll until you are happy with the effect. Let dry before adding a coat of gloss varnish to protect it.

Hope this helps,
