I know this isnt the trading post but wanted to put this out to the masses lol.
Basically i have been asked to do some work on the above mentioned marines (conversions) simular to this.

I was wondering if there was much of a market for doing these and if anyone else out there would fancy one or something simular, it would justify me getting hold of one to do the conversions parts on.

There probably will be a market place BUT how much are you willing to have to pay to get hold of one, or two or three?

They ain't going for a bag of magic beans, worse luck.

Kind of looks good, the gun is GREAT and the ammo belt looks good to, just not a fan of the backpack or more to the point the way it sits on the model. looks very out of balance, even though nicely done. Good luck finding one, I dont think they are easy to track down!! But keen to see what you could do with one of course! Who done this conversion?

i did the conversion mate :) i was just wondering if there would be much interest in me doing them for other persons already with the model, if i where to get one myself it would be handy for doing the work rather than posting bits back n forth.

I like the backpack! It's exaggerated and gives a real sense of weight and power. Emphasises the 'heavy' in Heavy Bolter. The sculpting looks really clean and fits with the original parts.

From the side the model looks like he's in danger of toppling over backwards. Looking at some random 40k Heavy Bolter Devs here at the studio have their legs apart - one forward one back to help them balance.

Do you plan to paint this beauty?

cheers curtis the angle is actually as near perfect as its possible to get and stands up just right :) its my incredibly ropy camera skilz is all. As for painting this conversion it was done a long time ago for a cmon client "rollingthunder" i believe he started painting it in his own chapter colours "stone templars" of which i did my first ever terminator commission sniff sniff filling up a bit lol

Its a great conversion, I would have it done if I were purchasing the marine, but I would leave off the standard backpack instead and just have the ammo pack. Even if that was sacrilege of some kind lol. Or have it all sit tighter to the back of the marine, even the normal backpack seems to be poking out a fair bit from the back? I must say though, that the heavy duty bolter adds a lot to the impact of the model and makes the standard model look weedy now I've seen this conversion cassar lol.

I have a question for you mate - I have followed through your scratch built gigantic versions of various models, just wondering how much Milluputt you typically use per model!!!???? And do you have shares in the company lol? Must be alot of green dust in your workshop mate!

It has been listed as being limited for at least 3 years!!! That was when I bought my first one, and it stated then that "We don't know how long the moulds will last". Well either they are damn strong - going on the number of kits that got bought after Giganticdark did his fabulous conversion - or as I suspect they have made new moulds and are calling it "limited" to attract people to buy a £100 kit ( that has no gaming purposes).

Back to Cassar - love the conversion especially the gun. I do think that the ammo pack should be part of the backpack as per the actual figure - but hey thats just me.

I do think that there will be people out there who have the kit that would love for someone to do a conversion on it - getting them to pay a reasonable price for your quality efforts, well that's a different matter.

Forgeworld will milk it forever. They can make new moulds easily. its not like its any trouble to them lol! Nothing limited about it, just a sales ploy thankfully. I'd like to think should I ever have £100 to waste on a space marine its available for me to buy. Although, as I said, it would need Cassars big gun conversion as the original model looks incredibly weedy compared to this lol. Trouble is there are too many other cool models on Forgeworld that are cheaper. I am really liking the Basilisk and the Ettin at the moment!!!
