I really like what you did with this mini. the only gripes I have with this one is that his skin is a little shiny, some metals on him are rather clean(lip piercing, the metal on the base). But what i do like are his little friend there and the blue is a very nice touch to the overall look of the mini. Keep up the good work. Voted and commented:beer:

I managed to see it before the link broke itself and it is excellent! The checks are lovely and square with just the right amount of weathering all over the model

I think he looks great.........however I do have a big issue with the slate the squig is sitting on over hanging the base like that......just doesn\'t look right to me.

About time larre! ive been waiting all day for you to fix that pic ;)
A fantastic job, the only thing i think doesnt fit too well is the rock the squigs sitting on, it looks a little out of place. Apart from that a great job. A solid 8 from me.

hehehe, I though abpout that... I thought I could take a small slotta base and increas the area of the base. so that the rock is on a base itself... but then I wont be alloud to enter it to a comp... and then I thought that it would just looks weird :p

anyway.. what do you guys think of that idea? do you think it would look weird or cool?

I think if you moved him to a bigger base it would look better, and look more natural, but then im not sure how that would work in the competition?

there is the problem... I don\'t think it\'s aloud to have a bigger base than it comes with. and plus.. I have no bigger base... but I will buy some 50mm bases (warmachine) on thursday (I hope). that is not for sure though.. I will have to take the ferry... alot of money it cost...
but hopefully I will get some 50mm bases... I need a base for my sculpt aswell (it\'s coming along great btw)

so hopefully I might get a bigger base.. but I will enter the Warboss to the comp first ( the final judging is 5th of may). so it might take a while...

Yeah, thats probably the best idea, enter him on this base, then move him onto a larger one later.
What will you be painting up next?

first of all I will finnish the troll sculpt (Ghrunt) and paint him.
then I will probably start a Demon entry. it will either be a redgiment or a squad :)

I haven\'t decided yet :p

Is it approved yet?

Looks great Larre, but I don\'t feel the pictures are doing the mini justice. They are a bit fuzzy which takes away from the sharp and welldetailed look it had on some pictures in the WIP thread.

As for the painting it\'s very nice but I\'m going to echo a bit that some parts look too glossy imo. + that the position of the squig looks strange.

I still think the green checks on the shoulder pads are a bit much. They look good on the banner icon though.

I personally really dislike the blood on and around the squig. It\'s a matter of personal preferance, as I just find gory minis to be cheesy.

As mentioned by a few others, the base is a bit much to fit on a regular around. It just looks like the terain is floating or something.

Overall though excellent work, way above my level.

I don\'t like painting blood personally either, but it\'s a part of the painting hobby that can be very important to make it looks realistic. and this was an atempt of a new way of making blood as I said :)

come on, keep voting guys! :D

I don\'t really have much to say that others haven\'t mentioned already, and the lack of quality in the photos make it difficult to cast a properly critical eye over him.

I remember this guy looking much better in the WIP thread than he does in these final shots. I do believe that the addition of the Squig has given the mini more depth, the camera has focused on the Squig, which has thrown off the sharpness of the Ork behind. This is a shame, because the Ork is the thing that has had the majority of work done on it and I\'d like to see it properly.

About the Squig on the base, I have to agree with others, it looks unusual. If the chain actually connected to the collar on him I could understand the need for them to be on one base, but it doesn\'t, so why not seperate them? Also, if you do keep them on one base it needs to be bigger, the floating Squig platform doesn\'t work.

Taking the Warboss on his own, I think I really like him, but I can\'t quite tell from the photos here.

as I said before. it\'s going into a comp, that\'s why he still is one the same base as he came with in the blister, and the chain is still attached to the

about the squig, the idea I had was that the squig had torn apart the chainn by biting it off or something like that. and the I sculpted a chain out of GS (it hangs on his shoulder pad, but it\'s not vissable in the pics)
that is why the collar is still on the squig, because he didn\'t destroy the collar, he destroyed the chain :p

I have to excuse about the pics :) I will try to get some new ones later today :)
