hey guys!

I thought it was time for another WIP :)

I have started working on this years Games Day miniature :)

and I have a few thoughts...
should i use metallics or nmm?
what do you think of it?
is there anything you think I would be able to better-up

anyway, here is the pic ^^

this is just one part of the mini, he is placed on the base, but I wont take a pic of it untill I feel it\'s time, and the thingy going up from his back is also to be revealed later ^^

but mainly guys.. should I use nmm or metallics?

Edit: as you might see, I have done metallics in the right ear and nmm in the left ear, just to see the difference ^^

Yes looking good so far, I would also go for metallics as it seems more fitting for an Orc.
As for the thingy from the back, it looks like he is being hung from something and seems rather annoyed in that photo.

hahahaha, no he\'s not hanging from anything xD if not some empire scums get ahold of him...

yeah, metallics is probably the best choice to get the right feeling o this mini ^^

I have seen this mini alot lately, and I have to say that for some reason he looks like he wants to be a pimp orc.
\"Gretch better have my money!\"
Its just seomthing to do with the facial expression and pose I guess. I can just see him in a purple leopard print hat, can\'t you?

this is look really good so far. i love the green hue u have used especially.

the only thing i can see that may need improvement (im not sure if u r painting this for GD or if its just that its the gd model,,,got confused with the title) but maybe a smoother transition between the depths of the green and the highlights. which is really obvious on the left arm. and possibly light the shoulders some more (where light would fall) although this is just my personal opinion.

otherwise,,keep it up ^^ cant wait to see more

yes, I think some smoothing out could help actually :)

I have done some progress btw, I have done the shield on his back, his legs, a small bad hanging from his belt and something more that I\'ll let you know in my next update (should be tonight or tomorrow

this is looking a lot better now. nice one. the addition of the grot watchtower i like especially ;p (i might have to try that out if you dont mind). also, just checked back, the light sourced skulls are a nice touch

ok, i have another little bit that i would change (once again only my personal opinnion), although the chekering is done very well,,,its a bit,,,\"clean\" for an ork. maybe dirty up the white a little? your choice really.

still, a very nice model

I must you say that you make an exelent point my friend :)

yeah, orc items should be a bit gritty, I know, but on the other hand, I think I mannaged to get such a smoothe check pattern, it would actually pain me to ruin it with dirt xD

what did you mean with check patterns on the back? on the of the basket pole? (or whatever it\'s called?)

however... I\'m thinking... should I let the liht go down to the fur on his back or should I just leave the light radius as it is and start fixing the acual OSL on the skullS?

just the checkers on the back (on the sheild i think it is).

personally i wouldnt change the light radius as you\'ve created a more \"daytime\" scene, so the light wouldnt be that strong,,,unless you wanted it to be for effect ;p
