[Larre\'s WIP] OMG I\'m starting to get a WIP history XD

okay, so I\'m starting to realise that I have made a couple WIP threads now, as I\'m writing in the title [Larre\'s WIP], and 31 different allternatives come up (you know, history of what you have written before with what you write in the title) might be because I\'m changing the name of the topic all the time...

anyways! so I have started working on a Duel (I found the inspirational art in O&G army book)

and so I started sculpting the orc!! and this is my first atempt at sculpting an Orc!
I\'m very pleased with the result so far :D I hope this little fella doesn\'t turn his back on me when it come to painting...

anyways, here\'s some pics :)

You\'d better cut his ahem \"tackle\" off, orcs are fungi and don\'t need ahem \"tackle\" to reproduce. You might also want to smoothern out the join by the neck and bulk out the ribcage area more.

although they don;t reproduce in a normal way, they can still urinate so some tackle would be appropriate but not a \'complete set\'!

haha, you know.. I just follow an accurate orcnatomy... it\'s been covered by some chainmail and ragged clothing :)

PS: freakinacage... this guy doesn\'t urinte the ordinary way, he sits on his victime and eat them \"from behind\" and then he spit out what he doesn\'t need in his body xD

I think it looks great. It\'s just one problem the junction betwen the head and the body is\'nt very smoth. I think it will look cool when it\'s finnished.:)

Short response
Looks great, you get better all the time!

Long, traditional Lono response suggesting all sorts of frustrating tweaks and changes!
The head looks good so far. I particularly like the general shape of it and the line of the cheekbones, nose and brow. I think the eyes need some work though. They don\'t look like they are recessed enough, and they are rather too large, at least for the way I think an orc should look. Perhaps you are taking a different approach to the orc look, in which case carry on!

I\'d think about carving the tusks off and doing them again too. They aren\'t bad, but it looks like they have been done at the same time as the rest of the head. Because of this they have melded with the skin a little and aren\'t as well defined as they could be.

There looks to be a vast improvement in the rest of the model though. The torso and upper legs are looking much more considered proportionally than on your Empire chap. Good stuff.

I am wondering if you need to bulk out the shoulders so they are a little wider though due to the size the head has ended up at. It\'s not exactly too big, but it does make the shoulder area of the orc look a little narrow.

Perhaps (this may sound rather drastic at first, so bear with me, I don\'t think it\'s as scary as it necessarily sounds) you could cut the head off, add some more height and width to the pectorals and shoulders, and then re-apply the head just a little higher up on the model. It would add some real power and stature to him.

you make some exelent points, when I saw your replie on the main forum (you know.. last reply thingy) I thought.. okay, long post is awaiting me xD

anyways, I have had this update on my comp for a couple of days now, I just haven\'t bothered to post it \'til now :p

Yup, it\'s coming on nicely still. The canvas and chainmail looks decent over the legs.

If I had to guess at what he\'s holding I\'d say a head. Do I win a prize if I\'m right?

Either that or a goblin, and if he isn\'t he should bloody well be as I have decided anything else will look like a big bag of wank!
