Las bolt Color help

Well considering that for it to cause any certain amount of damage to a target and staying withing the electromagnetic spectrum as there main source of damage. It would be colourless as you wouldnt be able to see it, but you would see the air around the bolt ionise and crackle more than likley, which if you are going off our air supply being high on iron (less than 0.001% that is i think)and high on nitrogen and oxygen i would say a blue colour but very faint so in essence no coulour at all.
But personnally i think leds only look good on large minitures

not sure if it would work on individual guard minis myself. i don't think there is an official fluff colour. i am sure i have read about different colours. firewarrior has some lasguns in them so you could copy them. i'd just go for whatever colour would match the minis
I'm pretty sure the 'bad guys' always use red and the 'good guys' use blue or green. At least so old sci-fi films would suggest!!
I have to agree with the above though, whilst I've seen some pretty cool LED use on large scale stuff, I don't know if it will work on individual troops. I look forward to seeing you prove us wrong though

would there be enough room for a power source? Would you be able to replace it? Could you have an on/off switch?

As JL points out most industrial - ie damage causing, lasers are in fact not visible in the normal spectrum of light. I think the idea in films and such like is that a colour beam is added that is visible so that the beam can be traced where it has gone. As such the beam can be any colour you like.
Now I know that you can get really weeny LED, like the sort you get in mobile phones but to be honest I think it'll be more work than it's worth to put them into minis. There are examples where people have put them in vehicles as running lights which generally look ok but to put them in minis ??? Naah
