Late night painting

Yay... it is fun !

I painted from 2am to 4.30 am last night and it was really refreshing. Don\'t know why... And I seem to be much more productive on the nights, painted two Orcs for my army

Anyhoo.. what\'s your opinion on this ? :bouncy: Is it complete bull ? Do you like to sleep on that time ? Do you like sheep ?

Late night is practically the only time I paint at all

And it\'s not complete bull, I do not sleep too much (usually not at all) and I like sheep alright, especially with a side of rice and a nice sauce.

I painted from 10pm to 6am yesterday, got 4 hrs sleep then drove 6hrs to my grans...

pretty bad idea, your paintwork is never as good in the morning

Well, since I work from 10 am to 9 pm, I usually paint from about 10 pm to 1 am.

I tend to paint whenever I get the chance, but I have to that that the evening/night is my favorit time to paint. Everything is quit in the house, just me my mini and some nice musique. You just don\'t get the same feeling while painting during the day.

i used to like painting in the early afternoon because my parents would be out of the house and i could just slap on my music and get on with it. now i have to work (takes up painting time but also funds it - damn!) i don\'t get to paint much. i tend to paint whenever i get the time (very rare).

if i\'m not working, i like to paint on a sunday afternoon after my roast, when no-one can be bothered to do anything anyway. that way, i know i\'m not missing out on anything!!

Late night painting.

I work a midnight shift, and I have a little person (3 yo) who loves to help me paint. When he sees me breaking out the paint he wants to be in the middle of it. I find more often than not now I\'m painting after I put him to bed on my nights off. It\'s quiet and I can go long stretches w/o the phone ringing and other distractions. Grab the brush put on some tunes and Zen out. I think I do the best work after dark .

I\'m a day painter and I get more done on the weekends..after 8:00 pm all I want to see is the flat side of my pillow. LOL :duh:

Wow, 8pm is the earliest I will do anything under my own willpower. Before then I just sit there, most likely on the computer, thinking about how much stuff I have to do after 8....

Very true, since even with good quality lights, you will not have the same amount of light as daylight. Things like blending never look as good when painted at night. For this reason, I only do gaming standard stuff at night

I usually paint at night, or just after getting out of bed, in the mornig. I do this because I wear contactlenses and I can\'t paint well while wearing them, so when I get them out before going to bed I usually paint for some time (\'till about 2:00 am) But I do like painting in daylight better, especially because I don\'t have good lighting in my room. (plus at 4:00 am I tend to think everything I paint looks excellent )

I tend to paint at night, too. Probably most weekday-painters with full time jobs do. I hope this means my CMoN scores will improve as summer progresses...

And maybe I can stop putting snow bases on every damn thing...

Night time is MY time

I work until 10:30pm and paint/sculpt from about 11pm to 7:00am.....EVERYTHING\'S better when the sun goes down!! Of course, if there was a hunky, 6\' something diversion, I wouldn\'t mind taking a break in there somewhere!!:flip::bouncy:

Late night painting was the norm... Spent about 5 years on Afternoons. Though I find once I got to the detail, touch up and finial highlighting stage I paint every second I can to get the mini done, bothering my wife every five mintutes with \"Does this look right\"

It will take me days to get a base coat done, then a couple of hours to do some basic shading, but once I get to the highlights, its like \"I have 5 minutes for that pizza to finish in the over, I can get that pouch done\" or \"Maybe I will skip the Tim Hortons this morning, this eybrow almost looks perfect\".......

At the moment, no time is the right time....

I HAVE PAINTERS BLOCK - there I said it. *phew* <instigates group hug>

I have had a few pockets of \'light\' when I got a model finished earlier this year, but I\'m back on the darkside again. It\'s frustrating as hell, \'cos I really REALLY want to paint. Perhaps that\'s the problem - too many models too little time ???

However, when I do paint, I tend to become obsessive with the model I\'m working on. My Eclipsante just became the most important thing ever and I painted from dawn till dusk and then some I must admit I find painting in the wee hours good for the soul - it\'s a time for reflection and just chilling out. The cats are alseep and not fussing around my painting area and it\'s just great.

The only time I have to pain is from 11 pm to 2am, and I usually get some good stuff done. Unfortunatly It\'s never done in time for my hobby group and I usually screw it up doing a 2 minute 3 color paint scheme.

Then again almost all I ever get done in time is conversions, so I have a record of the most conversions in my armies and the lowest paint jobs.
