Tricky miniature to paint! Very busy in details. So good colour choices on the helmet there (spot colour, red-green contrast) to still make it a focus point and allow the eye to wander around the details.

Not too sure about the colour of the chaos insignia on his left shoulder though. I know it fits with the chaos theme, but not with the overall colour pallette. It stands out too much to me, feels out of place.
Same goes for that blue thingy on his belt, not even sure what it is...

Blends look good.
Personally I'd pull the lighter part on the horns a little further out, so it's more clear where the horns are, right now his right horn disappears into the pole of the skeleton scarecrow on his back.

Not much else to say about it, it's pretty darn good.

Clearly very good technique and you are bound to keep advancing.

I feel the base could use more of something, at present it feels a bit monotone.

Also I find the plastic parts are a bit chunky and fail to convince - closer to toy parts than scale miniature sculpting imho

I think considering the break you have had dude, its a good starting piece to get back on the horse as it were.....and no offence, but its a cut and paste conversion, if they look chunky and fail to convince...thats down to GW.

Gw did not choose the parts for this piece to be painted, Dave did, all on his own.

Great mini Dave! I would say you need to make his head stand out more it is lost in all his 'darkness'.
Having said that i think you need to create more dark contrast between the silver plates or his armour, e.g look at this right shoulder area. same on the base as well.
Take his blue crystal up lighter to pure swg.

Your minis are always much much better in the flesh tho, come show it to me!

Thanks...

Cheers for all the constructive thoughts. This mini was done fairly quick wanting to achieve gritty barbaric feel, using this mini as building block and warm up for future projects,so will take the advice and use it towards improving next mini's final finish.
Cheers for taking the time to post guys.

The skulls are my favorite bits! Really convincing looking. Overall, very impressive, and I'd say you've got the 'flow' back!
