Not sure why it\'s getting such a low score; but I don\'t think we ought to start that debate again so soon. ;) Maybe the legs look a little short but I like the details such as the fingerless gloves.

I\'m actually amazed that it gets such low score :~(

who many think this is just tabletop quality in a sculpting kind of view??
I\'ve put alot of work in this one and this is my best sculpt in this scale (54mm, I saw that someone asked :D)

anyways... off back to sweden tomorrow, I long to get my hands on the new GD mini and celeborn, and this sculpt that I probably will paint... and my new imperial butt-scratching officer!! :D:D:D

I too am surprised at the low score! I voted 8, because of the great expression, and with the little work ive been doing with greenstuff lately i know how hard it is to do even simple things, so scratch sculpts always are great to see!

Keep up the good work, and dont let the score disturb you too much :)

I think it\'s only getting such a low score cos it\'s a green and unpainted. I like it anyway - I think the Gold is yours this year.

Yeah Bill\'s right, people will never appreciate unpainted greens like a painted mini (hmm unless they\'re signed \"freeman\" :D ). I think this is great. It\'s a bit rough in places, I suggest you concentrate more on the finish in your next one. If you use metal tools make sure to have some lubrication, this could be anything from vaseline or oil to saliva(!). Even heard about people who use sex lube ;) Water works for some but I find it less than ideal due to the surface tension and also generally poor lubrication properties.

OR you could just use clay shapers :)

I kind of like the pose. It is, however, a bit static. But it works on this miniature. For a more relaxed pose pay attention to hip vs shoulder angle.

Hey Larre you shouldn\'t stress on cmon ratings. Your sculpts show promise, but need to come much further still. Take a look in SBJ, Freeman, Gael, and Quadrille\'s galleries and compare them to what you have now. Looking at you figure he\'s got several anatomy and proportion issues. Get a good anatomy for artist book there are many available and to help with proportion get a pair of calipers and the great size chart that is on Prophet Miniatures website. Print it out and use the calipers to compare with what you are sculpting. Also look up reference pictures of equipment and accesories you are putting on your character as well as people in poses that are like the pose you are going for. Try re-sculpting the figures you have already done and try improving on them. If you are really serious about this sculpting stuff look for an Echorche class at the local college if they offer art classes ;)

One thing I\'ll note, the sculpt seems to be \"fuzzy\". I\'m not sure what I really mean by that, but there seems to be little pieces of GS still stuck to it.

After looking really hard at the picture, it may just be pixelation, but that could be the reason its getting low scores. For example, if you look on the left side of the head (the sculpt\'s right), the top of the hair on the shoulders seems be jagged. Now, that\'s probably impossible to sculpt like that, so that\'s why I\'m thinking that its the picture.

I\'ll start painting him soon ^^

I have actually baught 2 new clay shapers :D but this sculpt was almost finnished before I mannaged to get ahold of them, and a new brush wich I believed was rubbish..

I\'m not going to take sculpting too seriously though... it\'s a hobby atm, so maby when I go to the gymnasium I might take some classes ^^

After looking at this green for the first time I immediately thought something was either wrong with the legs or feet. I\'m not sure if other people agree but I feel that the legs are either too short or too thin compared to the arms, also the feet look too small in this picture. That is probably hurting your scores.
