Hi everyone,

here is my latest finished figure (again :D ) but this time the photo is much better. I got tired of everyone telling me my photos was crap and decided to invest in better light bulbs and a photo box. I am very happy with the result and I hope that you all agree.

Anyway, I hope that you will enjoy it!

I have decided to stop with my WIP - thread and instead try to invest my time in writing a few articles when time permits. In a week or two there will be an article by me, Ben Komets and Matt Cexwich explaining 3 different ways of painting a knight sculpted by the talented Allan Carrasco for the new game Kraken Ed.

Nice picture, finally! :D There\'s a bit of a halo effect around the mini though from the magic wand. Maybe one pixel more of \"contract\" in PS?

Anyways. This is a really neat miniature. I like the sculpt as well as your paintjob. But for me I\'m not entirely sure about the colours.. but we\'ve talked about that. Still nice, and I need to see it IRL sometimes! :)

Avelorn: Haha, thanks, I am very happy with the pic! Yes, it was a good decision, I think the taste in this is a little less fantasy and a bit more mature in taste level. But as always, it can never be everyones cup of tea ;)

I really love this piece, and if you have any recipies for that skintone you would like to share that would be great!

The only thing I don\'t like is the black weapon blade, as commented, I can\'t make out what it is or whi its black, and makes it look unfinished in my eyes.

A solid 8.5 from me, (rounded up to 9!)

OrkyDave: Thank you DAve, I can assure you that it is not black just painted with lots of contrast in order to get a blade not polished and more barbaric. THe skin will be explained in the article I was talking about but I can give you a quick exp. :

1. Base (german uniform/elf flesh/camo green)
2. Successive shades (base /sanguine base/dark brown)
3. Successive shades (base /sanguine/dark brown/dark blue)
4.Marking shades ( nr 3 + more of the darker tones esp. blue and dark brown)
5. First light (base + khaki)
6. Second light (base + khaki + bone)
7. The nr 6 mix is then succesively blended through bone and then white with a filter of some yellow/camo

I then reinforce the tones by glazes of purple, catachan and some yellow and camo.

The importance is not the mixes ( I just go with feel) but the fact that you try to use some purple and blues and most of all personal taste. Me I love the skin of Julie Bell and if you study her skins you can see a hint of yellow/green(camo) in her lights which I find to be a fanastic use of colours and it evokes something rather grand.

Very nice.
I\'m not so keen on the yellows in the flesh, but like you say, that is what you like from an artistic point of view.
It is very nicely painted though.

Thanks guys! It means alot!

For me personally it is a big step forward. It is my first \"perfect\" figure where everything comes together: vision, ambiance, taste, theory and execution. For me this is my style and the way I imagine in terms of tones and colours. I have a few secret projects (for future exhibitions) that all have the same ambiance and it is hopefully something that will stay with me for a long time.

Best wishes
