Lava base - is it ok?

Hi there this is my first atempt at a lave base. Have I got it right or can I improve it somehow?

IMHO : it\'s great !!!

Just one thing thow. There are a few red spots on the center of black part. That might be \"too much\" because if you have someone standing on that, they\'d go straight through.

I think that\'s excellent. I actually like the red spots showing through the crust, it makes the crust less two-dimensional. The crust would not be firm enough for anyone to stand on it anywhere really, and far too damn hot for that too. Depends on what mini you\'re putting on top of it.

Anyway, I think it\'s superb.

That looks just great

One thing you might want to consider is highlighting the hardened crust - since this is now stone it could be treated just as if it were not just above lava - but it depends on the overall lighting scheme whether this is the right step.

Being glossy this looks like it\'s obsidian which if that\'s what you intended I\'d leave just as it is.
