Legendarion miniatures - experiences

That's interesting - I wasn't aware he had his own website. I have some of his things from Cadwallon.com (some of his chibi primes), and for the most part, the casts are good. If he uses the same caster as Cadwallon, the metal is a bit soft, but the detail is there.

I have bought every single chibi primarch they have released. I like 'em a lot and they use paypal so it's safe and secure. Delivery is pretty decent too, but can take up to a month sometimes. I have my eye on the little miss smiley bust next :)

Seems like a steal for 45 euro. There are some great pics of the sculpt up on putty and paint. Not sure how well that will translate to casting.

he's a talented sculptor who uses other peoples concept work, in a dodgy fashion. He also has a rather foul mouth. And if you know me, you;d know it must be bad. I'd never buy from him

So it's not really his piece? That's pretty weak. If only he could find some sort of community of like minded artistic types to feed him ideas so he wouldn't have to rip off other people... maybe online somewhere?

...who uses other peoples concept work, in a dodgy fashion...
while true, sometimes I'm very happy for that.
For example one of the latest: Conf - Griffin rider. It's a really good match to the art on the CH4 cover. Much much better than the official model.
And altough I'm not for goblins, but the one on the ogre is also a super sculpt based on Bonner's art that's really close to it.

Also if you bash him (altough rightfully) for it, you could also do it to others, like "Michael Kontraros" for the Eternal Crusader. It looks awesome, but no matter how you look at it it's a Black Templar.

(mentioned him, as it's the most recent look-a-like figure I remember)

I really like the Chibi Primes. But I'm a bit uncertain how I feel about him sculpting Rackham stuff without the proper authorization. Thing is, the way things are going with Legacy, he may just about be the only way to get new Confrontation stuff now ....

Certainly, in past postings, Legendarion has proven to be .... unpleasant. He got himself banned from the old Dragonpainting forum for responding aggressively to criticisms.

But of late, if you run through his posts on Dakka and on Facebook, he comes across as polite and civil.

Whether this new Legendarion is a new carnation or different person, I don't know, but he is certainly much nicer to talk to now.

Yeah, I think sculpting to concept art is fine. Knocking-off or recasting other peoples sculpts seems less cool... unless of course they aren't being made anymore.

This is so very true, his(?) actions and comments on here got him(her/them) some serious Bad Karma Points.
Racist and aggressive, to say the least at one point.
One would hope the name has been taken up by someone with more thought.

But when someone else is holding the copyright with the intention (and actuality) of production, it's a whole new, litigious, ball game.

Thank you for the replies. After consideration, I think I will let this miniature pass.

Lord knows i have enough stuff on my plate as it is.

So much time has passed since then, things have changed.
We do not swear anymore, and not offending anyone.
We are very sorry for the past. Young hot blood calmed down.

We have all rights for sculpting and selling Itela Justina figurine.
