I paint my thumb.
Welcome aboard, good luck in your quest.
On the wizard the paint look like its a bit thick, on the warrior I think the red cape and metal might be starting well but its hard to tell against blurry pics.
Make sure your pictures are clear before posting them in wip if you want comments
Happy painting

Hello! Make some pics with a black or white backgroud! What will you paint to the book? Keep working!

Welcome to the forums, you are at the right place to improve you skills!

Yes better pictures is a start to help us help you, oh and what paint did you used to do the snake on the first mini?

Is the snake around the staff painted silver, or is that bare metal with black shading? (Looks neat either way.)

It looks to me as if the metal is picking through the metal here and there (on the tips of the horns, the corner of the book, the back of his cape) - do you handle the mini while you paint it? Did you prime it?

Look at the beast's head and tongue or whatever that is - that's a mold line. You also got some more of them there. It will look nasty on your finished mini, so before you paint, get rid of it. Get an exacto blade, maybe a file and some fine (600+ grade) sandpaper. It can be a lot of work, but it is worth it. The paint will make it extremely visible.

oistene is correct. Preparation work is the most important stage, even a world class painter can not do a good job if there are mold lines / flash marks on the mini.
A normal size mini can take over an hour just on removing the crap, this is before you start pinning or converting etc.
Slow it all down, real take your time on the clean up then get a real smooth undercoat, this can take 5-6 thin layers to build up.
Plan your time and aim for a certain job to be finished at each stage / sitting. For example tonight im aiming to get the gems fixed on the elf im painting and nothing more, if any more gets done that's great but as long as you stay focused on the planned stage.
Hope this helps :)
