I did this conversion about six months ago, after seeing Alexi_Z\'s version (58808). In fact, it was seeing this figure after following a link from another site that got me hooked on CMON.
There is quite a bit of greenstuff. The weapon is totally home-made, with the blade being some flashing left from a sprue that I hand carved. You can still see the GW and numbers on part of it which I did on purpose to make them look like runes later. The banner/cloth is all greenstuff too, and I plan on adding a little ball to the back of the shaft, or maybe a jewel. I filed off her face and made a new one out of greenstuff, but I accidentily filed of her right shoulder pad in the process which I had to re-build. The hair between the wings is all greenstuff too. The weapon I moded by filing, rather then swapping as Alexi did. I primed her to better see the spots that needed work, an old house painters trick. Then I added a little more greenstuff here and there . The sad part is I probably will never get around to painting her...
The reason behind posting this now is because I recently saw a similar conversion on E-bay, figure #93558. So, is this a common conversion (wings) or did Alexi originate it like I had assumed? ???
While I am at it, here is another piece I\'ve been working on -
I am trying to make a figure that matches the fluff for Vinter Raelthorne in Warmachine. This started out as a standing Cobalt miniatures Slayhn. I cut off his legs and added the legs from a GW Imperial gaurd roughrider. The gun is from the Mordheim sprue, and there is a little greenstuff where I had to match up the lower and upper body halves. The eyepatch was the hardest thing, I never tried sculpting something so friggin small! The nob on his back is to hold this weird spider-like backpack that came with the Cobalt mini which I\'m going to add back on later. He is supposed to be using some sort of horrendous warbeast according to the fluff, so I have him on a GW cold one for now. I might add a sadle and some spikes, still not sure.
I mentioned on the forums several times that I sculpt, but I never paint stuff I modded. Not sure why, but I figure I would give everyone a look at some stuff I\'ve done recently. Please let me know what you think.
