Light my fire

Please can someone give me an idea on how to get a real nice raging fire colour. a stage by stage colour guide would be ideal for me, and when i need to water down paints etc.

All help and comments are appreciated. Thanks everyone

You really should use Google and the forum search before starting a new thread. It\'s quicker and saves the same questions being asked over and over. \'painting fire\' brings up a great tutorial in the first result.

The in-practice part on that link ain\'t bad but I think if you\'re going to start with white you should leave some of it in the recesses for the part of the flame that you want to show is hottest, that way the progression is in one direction only. So, white - light yellow - yellow - deep yellow - orange - scarlet - red (and then on to smoke colours if there is any of that sculpted).

ah ive already yellow inked all over :( i did it last night. I guess i\'ll stick to that guide though as ive never really painted flames before and its a nice effect, i love the bright bases of the hottest parts
