lions vs. elephant

That\'s quite unusual, although it didn\'t look like the biggest of Elephants. Not like a matriarch, or bigger still, a full grown bull elephant.

There was some footage taken by tourists on safari a few months back of Lions attacking a young wilderbeast, I think it was. Nothing strange or uncommon there. However, the youngster\'s mother cam charging back and took on the Lions, knocking them flying about and chasing them off, saving her baby. Wildlife photographers and cameramen wait ages for something like that to happen and it happens while the tourists are there.

EDIT: It was a buffalo, and the mother brought reinforcements. Oh, and I forgot about the crocodile that also attacked the baby. Looking at the footage again, I\'m not sure the baby did survive.

I remember when this was aired and they got complaints..mainly from nature lovers..The kind that don\'t think anything violent happens in nature...that all the animals are friends and help each other out in hard times just like disney...nature is brutal cruel and fascinating..

i\'m a nature lover - and i think the savagery is beautiful. it\'s deadly serious, graceful, passionate, calculating, sorrowful......
it exemplifies existence.

one thing must die so that another may live...and the dance goes on.
