Hey, what would i need for a 1000 point army, i was thinkin of getting a battalion, and, what else, i like them, they look awesome, i like all the models, except the swarms and their slane priest, all the others rock. My favourite unit is the cold one cavalry, i was planning to do dark elves and like the cold ones, but found them to be overpriced, too expensive, and when i saw the cold ones in lizardmen, i wanted them, the others lizard minis look good as well.
So what do you recommend for a thousand points, and if it is legal can anyone tell me, how many points is the each of the Saurus Cavalry minis worth, 1 mini.

The Saurus cav is 35 pts very tough and very pricy. They are 2nd only to Chaos Mounted Chosen ones both in points and toughness

Yes you can’t go wrong with the battalion set, it contains all of the core units plus a unit of sarus Cav, which you’ve mentioned where your favorite.
You might also want to pick up Kroxigors and Terradons if you have the budget and time for it.

I think the battalion sets give you close to 1000pts. So you probably just need a few characters and your done.

I bought the Battalion set not to long ago (well over a year but under 10) heres what I got

1 Slaan on throne
1 Unit Saurus
1 Unit Skinks
1 Lizardman Book

In addition, I\'ve got one Cold One Rider I picked up separately.

Since I dont plan on playing in many \"official tournaments\" with my army, I added 6 Sebeki from Crocodile Games for Kroxigor, and am currently in the market for something to use as TG

You dont usually get metal minis in the battalions... not nowadays! So that MUST have been some years ago!

Nope - recieved em January of this last year. The only metal in the set was the Slaan.

Boggle. That sounds like a weird kit. Was there alot more to it? Like was it the $300 large army deal they put out when new armies are released? Or was it some special thing put together by Direct Services or some sort of \"starter bundle\"? Because the current battalion has 24 saurus, 24 skinks and 8 cold one cavalry and the army box had alot more, but I forget what exactly.

Not that it really matters, I\'m just curious.

I\'ve also got some old Heritage Lizards in hopolite armor I\'m thinking of using for Skinks.

Havent decided yet though, cause there would have to be some serious conversion there I think.

they are so point heavy...unit of TG, slann in 2k is crazy!!!

(I use lizards and have done various army generals at 2k)...

Saurus cavalry is only good for flanking with the Standard of extra movment. They are fragile and expensive compared to heavy cavalry.

Lizards are a great army because they are so versitle. You have one of the best Anvil units in the game (saurus) the best skiermishers in the game (skinks) as core choices. You can also have decent heavy hitting units like Kroxigors and the bane of large units the salamander. Slaan are the best magic users in the game and mixing and matching lores is great (I take the first metal and then the rest life).

Typical builds range from tame to over the top deadly (and hated) list. You can go combat heavy, magic heavy, skirmish horde shooting heavy all with the same army.

i see many people only have 5 cold ones cavalry, but i like 8, although they are overpriced in ponts, if i put 8 like you get in a battalion, in a 1000 point games, will this really put a negative effect on my game or not. Besides i don\'t want 5 in my games, and then 3 sit at home for nothing.

If it is not a pain i will also do a 1500 point army, so you guys can rate it, if possible.

The extra rank really is not that usefull as they are not a hard hiting hammer unit. You could buy a couple opf extra cold one riders and have them as flank chargers wiith a couple of saurus blocks and some skinks to harrass and march block.
