London Explosions

They\'re wasting their time...

We\'ve been blown up before, we are used to being blown up! We\'ve been blown up by professionals!

This particular piece of mindless violence will only serve to harden everyone\'s resolve to get those responsible and strike back at those who believe killing random, innocent people on their way to work is a good way to pass the time.

All my thoughts and prayers are being sent across the pond to you guys.
I just heard over the TV in the office that they raised the dead number to 45, and at least 1,000 injured. I hope that\'s not true though. :(

@Katana Angel - I think there is a bit of exxageration going on there - there are only 2 confirmed deaths at the moment, although I am sure there are others

Londoners went through absolute Hell during WW 2, and have survived and thrived all of this kind of madness. I\'ve no doubt they will rise to the occasion again.

I pray everyone is safe.

Yeah, there\'s only been those two confirmed. This was more of a \'blurb\' than anything in the news, and I know that the US media gets carried away sometimes... I\'m just hoping that the tolls don\'t go that high.
This is really unfortunate. I remember going to London 5 years ago and I adored the Underground. (Omaha doesn\'t have subways) And the people. Everyone stay safe over there!

Shaz, glad to hear that you and Tammy are okay. You two were my first thoughts when I heard the news this morning.

Rufio, regular poster or not, I\'m glad to hear that you - and your father - are both safe.

My thoughts and prayers will be with you all. Stay safe.

@Finn, you nailed it.

@Monolith:
I hope the responsible parties are caught and punished.
Seems like every time our government tries, someone starts whinning about the terrorist civil rights.

Prayers that the innocent death toll does not go up.

When will these people read history? No terror campaign has ever been successful. Killing civilians only hardens the resolve of the military.

Lloyd, keep your head down tonight. Got a feeling it is going to be interesting on your end.

I dunno, this isn\'t like it used to be. Back in the day, a bomb would go off, innocent people would be maimed and killed, it would headline on the news for a couple of days, and that would be it.

Today a couple of the major channels are running it non-stop. Certainly every half hour news broadcast is bomb news only.

I think the atmposphere has changed, we are living in a very sensitive political climate these days.

Was on my way into work when it happened. I was on the outskirts of one the train lines that was affected, so it was stopped and we were told to leave at the next station. Managed to get home on the bus and then watched the news. Still can\'t believe it.:(

Not to be a downer or anything... but if everyone recalls the American news was reporting NO CASUALTIES at the start of the Iraq war. We only found out the truth by watching European news, and the US News agencies claimed they were ORDERED NOT TO REPORT THE TRUTH. Makes you think, huh? I hope this isn\'t like that though... :(

@Banjo - Do non-Christians go to a Christian Hell? Therein lies the problem. :innocent:

Oh there will definately be more than 2 fatalities - but those are confirmed so far. They haven\'t mentioned any fatalities from the bus yet - only from one of the tube stations, so I\'m expecting at least 20 myself

It\'s bad but not THAT bad. We\'re a rather hardy people and are less prone to mass panic that others.

It\'s nothing on the scale of 9/11 and it\'s been handled fantasticlally by the emergency services. And fyw there are 32 confirmed dead as of 3:30. This is from a life press conference by London\'s cheif of police. And I\'ll bet most of these were due to smoke inhalation whislt poor people were stuck int he tube.

But that doesnt mean that its terrible and wrong. Just dont go around screaming for the deaths of islamics like I\'ve already heard some people on other forums do.

I don\'t think you\'ll find much mass hysteria here;)
