Maybe Jews and Arabs CAN get along... :rolleyes::innocent:

I was here early in this thread, before the ugly. Most of you probably know my opinons by now. Just don\'t judge American people by the action of the United States Government. We are well meaning and amongst the most charitable folk on Earth. I was going to relate to you fine people a little story told to me by a very good friend of mine; A moslem and former citizen of our lovely ally, Israel. I\'ve decided to take Mike\'s advice and not pour fuel on the fire. Most of you probably wouldn\'t believe the truth anyway, our own spin doctors have warped our little minds so much in the last 50 years that I don\'t think THEY even know the truth anymore.

Just try to remember, what one culture considers evil another culture might consider righteous. We are judging people by OUR belief system, and as much as I would like to believe We Are Right, I am sure they also believe the same. This is an incredibly volatile cultural difference, and unless the American people are ready to commit Genocide on a way of life, we will NEVER change their minds. make them think like us? Sure, it\'s possible... just look what we did with the American indians...

This whole thing is so sad... we shouldn\'t be fighting with each other... it\'s our differences that make the world so wonderful and diverse. I\'m just glad Medved and everyone else from England are safe... but we still shouldn\'t forget about the other victims and THEIR families just because they aren\'t present on CMON.

Our prayers are with them...................

Everyone has done so Mike, but if we don\'t want more bereaved families and maimed people, we should start thinking about what should be done to best protect the country...

Perhaps if the Israelis stopped gunning down innocent people in the street and bulldozing houses.... There is no black and white in all of this.:(

That\'s one thing we can ALL agree on. lol

@Rev - Yes, Medved was there. If you read his post he was right outside of Kings Crossing.

@Space - I guess you are one person I needn\'t tell the moslem side to... Over fifty years of a policy of \"Give it back to them tenfold...\" has not endeared the Arab peoples to Israel.

Sorry, I never felt this thread turned \'ugly\' or in anyway forgot the victims.

I am with Spacemunkie on this one, if we want to stop future madness, discussing the future should be done.

Granted, a internet site about miniature toy soldiers may or may not be the most ideal spot for a debate, but I thought everything that has been said was all very healthy dialog.

We can still be on the same \'side\' and have major disagreements, can\'t we?

thanks to all the well wishers. @rev yes i was on a tube at the time of the incident.
i was lucky i was at the other end of the tunnell that got bombed. my train stopped and we all had to get off and walk by some of the worst stuff i have ever seen. i will not say any more on this because it really was like looking death in the face.

It would appear that it wasn\'t actually his PR people who made that statement, just a promotions company who had something to do with an album launch party he had. Perhaps they have a problem with him for some reason.

Looking at his forums filled me with despair though. Some of the posters on there are actually proud to be illiterate. There are posts saying things like \'i new dat woznt omari he wud neva use wrds like dat wot iz so long dat i dint undastand. y doznt peps speak normal\' It\'s a depressing reflection of what I imagine is a rather large proportion of society

@SuperVike - I\'m sorry, I didn\'t mean that there was any kind of nastiness, just that people were busy arguing about solutions that will never come rather then saying a few kind words for the victims, which I believe was the original intent of the thread. I was just a little \'put-off\' by the attitude \"Thank God it was no-one we knew...\". I saw a lot of that after 9/11, and all I kept thinking was \"Yeah, thank God we are not one of the tens of thousands of people who have to wake up tomorrow without a father, or a mother, or a brother...\". I am just bitter that human beings could do this to each other. I didn\'t mean to imply anyone on hear was getting \'Ugly\'.

In fact, some CMONers are down right attractive! :D;)

The problem Scott (may I call you Scott?), is that it is too late to do anything about this. I have discussed this at great length with many of my Jewish customers and the problem is the EXISTANCE of Israel. What to do? Throw all the Jews out and give it back to the Bedouins who used to live there? The Bedouins didn\'t \'own\' the land; their concept of ownership was much like that of the American Indians. They \'used\' the land, not \'owned\' it. The British didn\'t have the right to give away something which wasn\'t really theirs. Now you have a modern nation existing on a piece of real estate which only belongs to them because of a 2000 year old claim! If we were to support all such \'claims\' then the U.S. should go back to the Amerands and Australia should revert back to the Aboriginies. But if you were to do that, where would all the people currently living in those places go? It\'s a no win situation. The Arabs won\'t be happy until Israel no longer exists, and since they have no where else to go (nor do that want to) this situation can NEVER be resolved. There is no right and wrong here, only a lot of victims. :(
