people are actually born in Milton Keynes????

I thought you just got lost there

it\'s looking more like a Cambourne painting team

Im not a brilliant painter, but I am improving and taking it fairly seriously and live near Harrow. Try asking staff in store there if anyone else is interested who paints well.
Btw well done at conflict (if youre the same Rocket and Roll)

Hi mate... yep, theres only one rocketandroll ;-)

I met another young guy in the Harrow store today who made 1st cut in WH single mini at GD last year, he may be up for joining... there\'s a nice family vibe about the Harrow store... quite a few regulars who seem to be in there painting frequently...

I\'ll see if they\'re happy to spread the word :)

As for people\'s standards... I\'m certainly not gonna start judging who is or isn\'t good enough :) I don\'t want to form some elitist painting clique... just find some other folks to chat painting with and bounce ideas off...

Anyway, pinballwizard, if you\'re interested, drop me an e-mail (see earlier post for address).

Maybe we can have a cultural exchange with the Milton Keynes team ;-)

I launch rockets from a field near there :)

Should i be worried?? ;) [/quote]

Be afraid... very afraid! :)

No, nothing to be concerned about... there\'s a group called \'EARS\', (East Anglian Rocketry Society) who hold big amateur rocket launching events the first Sunday of every month from some farmland near Elsworth... it\'s a good laugh...and they do a mean Nov 5th party!

That\'s cool.... I guess it really comes down to how often folks want to actually meet up face to face and how far they\'re willing to travel.

I was thinking maybe once every other week perhaps? Or maybe only once a month... perhaps somewhere Northwest london... dunno if people feel happy about it being at a GW store, or whether that poses issues if we want to discuss/paint non GW models?

I dunno... maybe a pub would be more appropriate :)

Primarily I figured it\'d be nice to have a local network of folks to bounce ideas off... probably most of the banter would be by phone or more likely e-mail mailing lists... so I guess geography is less critical?

What does anyone think?

I\'d suggest central london to be honest, lets anyone get there pretty easily (plus I live in SE London lol)

Ok... just to keep this thread alive...

If I propose a central London based meet-up... perhaps in a nice quiet-ish pub/bar in the next few weeks... with the aim of trying to get some kind of embryonic London based team/group together... who\'d be interested in coming?

And does after work on a weekday, or on a weekend suit anyone more? I can do either.
