Next in the queue is Joan of Arc.

I was "inspired" (shamelessly stole the color palette) from Shizune's PanO tutorial.

So I used the following colors to paint the body (the darkest parts were 1:1 mix of Black : DarkSeaBlue)

View attachment 50882

VAC 71001 White, VMC 70961 SkyBlue, VAC 71088 FrenchBlue, VAC 71087 DarkSeaBlue, VMC 70861 Glossy Black

Base colors and shading with airbrush looks like this:

After finishing the highlights with airbrush the result is:

For the sword I used the following colors:

VAC 71001 White, VMC 70827 Lime Green, VAC 71014 Gunship Green, VMC 70861 Glossy Black

And airbrushing the sword:

I was on vacation for two weeks, with family, so had no time to post progress.

Based on Shizune's WIP, I glazed the mini with Blue PK-PRO Glowing pigment and blue ink, but I did not feel much difference.
Blue ink is very similar to French Blue, and the pigment did not really intensify the the colors.

Furthermore I based the red parts with Black Red VMC 70859, and the Grey parts with VMC Medium Sea Grey 90870.
The artificial muscles were overpainted with VMC Medium Sea Grey 90870, then were washed 2x with VMC Glossy Black 70861:

Scabbard was done with VMC Chocolate Brown 70872.
Sword blade was glazed with PK-PRO green daylight pigment. This color was working perfectly, and gave a glowing feeling to the sword.
I found glossy black inappropriate for the shoulder pad and sword handle, so later switched them back to VMC 70862 Black.
For the letters I used GunshipGreen:Black and ChocolateBrown:Black mixes.

Further progress:

I highlighted the blue edges with SkyBlue, the grey parts with 1:1 White:MediumSeaGrey
The middle of the red lights were painted with 2:1 White:BlackRed, and then were washed with red glowing pigment, this worked well, too (maybe the blue was too light).
Furthermore sketched the cross on the loincloth with white.

The blade was highlighted with LimeGreen for the darkest parts and with white on the lightest.
I used loaded brush to highlight the Black handle and shoulder pad with White:

Finally added a White cross to the other shoulder pad:

The head was painted next.

First I sprayed it from bottom with VAC 71079 Flat Tan, then from upside with VAC 710796 Skin Tone.
Then refined it with brush and used VAC 71041 Armour Brown for the deepest parts.

For the white of the eyes I used VMC Ivory 70918, for the pupil forst mixed GlossyBlack and DarkSeaBlue, then used a little dot of SkyBlue in the middle.

I painted the mouth with BlackRed, then used VMA 71003 Scarlet Red and 1:1 mix of ScarletRed:Ivory to highlight the lips.

Furthermore I used ScarletRed to glaze the side of the face.
And the result:

I noticed only yesterday that the left eye was not ok (it was so small, I could not see it with magnifying lens), so spent the yesterday evening to fix that.

Just to point out that MAYBE the head is a bit too much turned to the back. (it can be just the angle of the picture)
Nice job!!

I started to work for tabletop on a Dwarf Runelord:

Cloak is VMC Burnt Cadmium Red 70814, VMC Carmine Red 70908, and hint of VMC Sunny Skin Tone 70845.
Hammer handle is VMC Olive Green 70967, VMC Intermediate Green 70891, VMC Lime Green 70827 and VMC Beige 70917
Blue parts are VMC Turquoise 70.966, VMC Light Turquoise 70840 and VMC Deep Sky Blue 70844.

I painted the handle first red, but as it is a kind of spot color to my army, repainted it in green.
Furthermore, as I found out, it is much easier to paint it IntermediateGreen first, gloss varnishing it, then wash with OliveGreen, than building up the colors from the darkest colors (as I did it for red).
And easy to clean up the mistakes with alcohol, without worrying over removing the other layers.

Face is painted with VMC Burnt Cadmium Red 70814, VMC Beige Red 70804 and VMC Basic Skintone 70815.
Eyes are VMC Ivory 70918, VMC Emerald 70838 + VMC 70862 Black, Emerald, Emerald + Ivory.
Beard is VMC Medium Sea Grey 90870, 2:1 MediumSeaGrey:Ivory, 1:2 MediumSeaGrey:Ivory, Ivory:
