Finally here is the
- edge-highlighted (with Schmincke TitaniumWhite),
- gem painted (VMC Burnt Cadmium Red 70814, VMC Carmine Red 70908, VMC Bright Orange 70851, VMC Deep Yellow 70915 and VMC Ivory 70918, with Schmincke TitaniumWhite highlight dots)
- assembled and
- varnished Dwarf Runelord,
- with varnish+bicarbonate snow:

Conclusion:
- Should spend even more time to remove mold lines
- Need to learn how to paint+highlight big red areas (the mini will stay this way, as it is intended mainly for gaming)
- Maybe one more layer of satene varnaish is needed
- And of course, fixing the black part of the base

Meanwhile I finished some Goblin Fantics for my Great Moonclan:

I tried out some methods to quickly paint orange, but the most successful was VMC Orange Brown 70981, shaded with Reikland Fleshshade.
Tried to use sponge to paint the balls, but I really need more practice to do it.
However I still love Modelmates rust effects, they work like a miracle.

The GW plastic quality was, well, let's say "shitty".
I understand that it is a 13 yo model, but look at that hand, where it grabs the chain, so I just wished to finish the model as soon as possible on some TTQ level:

I started to work on my 30th Anniversary Space Marine, as on of the Lamenters Chapter.

For primer I used black Mr. Surfacer 1500, recently arrived into the country. I love it, but has some smell, so sprayed the mini during the night.

For base color I used 1:1 mix of VAC 71014 Gunship Green and VAC 71041 Armour Brown. It resulted in a wonderful dark olive brownish green.

For yellow I first tried VMC 70913 Yellow Ochre, but for glazes it was not smooth enough, so I switched back to VMC 70923 Japan Uniform.

The first couple of pictures:

hmm, I think in december we have a new master who wins in a few kategories.

I really like the brownish-green going yellowish.

btw was it done with the Loaded brush or AB? (afaik you use a normal brush mostly)

Just checked out your work and I really like it. It's all so bright and vivid, sort of Mike McVey-esque. Keep up the good work!

Yesterday I removed and fixed a couple of the mold lines.
Furthermore tried to paint the knee pad black and white, with red strip on the back, failing miserably:

So back to red knee pad and black strip:

I am not 100% satisfied, either, can anybody advise me on knee pad or show me a good (not GW) painted one?

Cover the crappy parts with dirt/scratches. Failure >>> triumph. Other than that, I'm no help.
I love the look of the yellow armor. I recently made the decision (mistake?) to do a yellow figure over black primer, and I feel your pain! It's looking marvelous, though, and the scratches really stand out effectively. Remember to create clusters of superficial damage, rough up the parts that would naturally receive the roughest treatment, and hug the edges/crannies of surfaces with your placement of weathering. Great job so far!

I finished the kneepads, stayed with the red knee pad and black/grey bands.

For recesses I used 1:1 VMA 71014 Gunship Green and VMC 70859 Black Red. Then I highlighted it with Black Red, VMC 70947 Dark Vermillion and some Dark Vermillion - Titanium White mix.
For the bands I used VMC 70995 German Grey, highlighted to VMC 70836 London Grey, and added some VMC 70870 Medium Sea Grey to the scratch highlights.

IRL it looks better, seems my phone can not handle correctly the reds.

It looks soooo much better with the plain no pattern reds. I was hoping you'd do that and with the scratches it elevated a very suspect area to them now being of the equally highest standards the rest of the model displays.
