Adding the green goo caused me a lot of headache.
I tried to layer the Vallejo Still Water mixed with GunshipGreen, LimeGreen and PK-Pro Glowing Pigments, consecutively.
To my surprise the Still Water became opaque (as opposed to painting with the given colors, meh, even though I used the paints in at least ~1:20 ratio), but I had to add ~7-8 layers of Still Water to get the desired thickness and consistency. Meaning that e.g. at the steel pipe there was no dent in the goo.

The OSL game me another headache, simply drybrushing green was not enough, but painting the interiors with GunshipGreen and drybrushing with LimeGreen made it more or less acceptable.

Finally I finished the grills, added ModelMates rust effects, Typhus Corrosion and Nuln Oil, drybrushed with some VAC Steel, painted some scraches and the base is ready.

Here is the completed mini:

Just read this whole thread. Some awesome work and love how you've done the marine. Love the style. Very refreshing.
Thanks for sharing!

It's been great following this one through, and it's clear to see how much effort you've put into it. I know the water/slime didn't turn out quite how you wanted but it certainly doesn't look bad

The green goo came out really well. Not a fan of the beaky marines but it's beautifully painted and the base is deceptively simple. Look forward to seeing more.

The last couple of weeks did not go for me very well (except Hungarian Golden Gobbo, more about it later).

I continued painting the cape, drawing the dragon with VMC 70872 Chocolate Brown + VMC 70950 Black:

Then filling out the details with VMC 70872 Chocolate Brown + VGC 72066 Tan and VGC 72066 Tan:

Finally highlighting with VGC 72066 Tan + VGC 72041 Dwarf Skin and VGC 72041 Dwarf Skin:

Crickey, I'd have a heart attack painting that cape... So, nice job! :D

And good stuff on the marine, it's a joy to watch.

Zab, thanks!

Meph, thanks, I cheated a little (but not much). I put a painter sticky tape under the dragon, and with a needle I made holes on the dragon body. Then I stuck the tape on the cape, and tried to paint over the holes, but not with much success, but I got enough black dots to draw the dragon body.

And some pictures of the loincloth (asscloth? bottomcloth?) and the quiver:

The outside of the loincloth was painted with VMC 70982 Cavalry Brown (+Black or +White).
The quiver and the leather stripes were painted VMC 70872 Chocolate Brown (+Black or +White).
The gold was painted with VMC 70877 Goldbrown (+Black or +White).
The arrow shafts were done with Chocolate Brown, and the feathers with VMC 70838 Emerald (+Black or +White).
But to be honest the arrows looked more like a chunk of metal, not a couple of arrows together.
And the result:

Using tape to transfer the pattern, that's not cheating, that's a great technique!

hi, great work in this thread!

Meph, thanks, I cheated a little (but not much). I put a painter sticky tape under the dragon, and with a needle I made holes on the dragon body. Then I stuck the tape on the cape, and tried to paint over the holes, but not with much success, but I got enough black dots to draw the dragon body.

I will steal this technique :)
What was the problem with painting over the holes? Was it the heavy folding of the cap or the tape itself?
