Welcome Sergeant! Sorry to hear about the demotion...(i thought it was CAPTAIN crunch)

Both solid minis. I think the 2nd one is a bit better. Good clean paint. Just needs a little more smoothness and highlighting.

Thanks. When you say smoothness are referring to the layer transitions or the paint. If I thinned my paint anymore I\'d be painting binder and water on the mini. lol

And with the handle, it\'s a long uninteresting story.

Welcome Sgt.....

..Dana looks the better of the 2 minis

the highlighting on the cloak lets the first one down a bit, plus the actual texture of it looks a little rough, a red glaze would help tie it together better

done the votey thing

Boris was kind of a transitional model for me. I was moving away from craft paints to Reaper\'s MSPs and trying to get away from drybrushing to layering. I could go back and fix him, but I want to have something I come back to later and say \"See, this is where I was.\"

The only thing I can add is the side of the bases needs finishing. Ive seen alot of good minis ruined because people dont paint the edges of thier bases. Nice work did the vote thing.

nice work mate, if you add more contrast with your shading it will help the highlights pop out that little better without looking cartoony.

the grainy effect can be caused by thinning to much. just something to think about.

hope this helps.

Hi Serg,

Looking at both your minis side by side Dana is definately the better of the two, it is a nicer sculpt anyway and I might add on my wishlist. The painting overall is ok, I think the Boris figure is the poorer of the two because it lacks a little highlighting on the scalemail armour and the red just isn\'t quite there. You could try and place some deeper shadows in the folds of the cloak with some darker red, if you thin it down quite heavily and then add the shadows in stages the gradual build up in colour will be alot smoother looking. Then you could go back and try and rehighlight the topmost parts of the folds with something mixed into the red like a fleshtone rather than orange. Like I said I can\'t see alot wrong with Dana other than a little more highlighting here and there.
Welcome to Cmon and I hope you like it here.
