Longtime lurker; first submission

Here\'s by first submission! I\'ve done a LOT of painting since I joined up a year or so ago, but for some reason I never really felt like posting anything. This isn\'t the \'best\' I\'m able to produce here, but I feel it\'s very good, and I just finished it the other day.

Also, the fact that I felt like trying out my new camera lens may have had something to do with the sudden need to post :)

The paint job is nice and clean. But you might want to work on contrast in general (except the bone of the staff, that looks spot on). For the NMM, go in the article section. You\'ll find examples of how to apply your highlights for that. Another thing that will help is to work on your base. A bit of sand, ruins, earth, grass, snow, logs, ... can easily liven it up.

As a first post, I think it\'s rather nice and can be very promissing. Keep it up.

I will back up what Cedric said, the bone on the staff looks ok, the skin toe seems to be a little flat though the picture is not doing it justice to make a proper estimate of contrast and shades and highlights. Wargods is difficult to give interesting bases to as it basically takes place in a sandy enviroment but certainly some rock or ruins would help give a little more interrest to the mini overall. I still think it is a good seven and that is what I voted it at.

Yeah, I see what you mean about photo quality. I usually don\'t shrink/compress my photos enough to get the uploaded, and I see I overcompensated this time. A better photo would definitely help certain areas like the \'skin\' tones, but others are forever lost, like the gold NMM. The silver areas just plain suck :)

To be honest, I started this a long time ago as a second or third ever NMM piece, and it just sat there unfinished. I actually decided to push it through just so I could put it on ebay and stop looking at it.

Thanks for the advice though guys, I appreciate it. Hopefully my next model will be better, and take all your help into account.
