Looking for a good dark metallic tutorial?

Hey there fellow painters, I hope all is well! I recently purchased a Blackguard miniature for a D&D campaign I am in, and I am planning to paint him in a sort of "lich-king/deathknight" appearance with dark metallics.

I'm having trouble finding a good tutorial or sources of inspiration though and I was wondering if anyone out there had any thoughts or guidance in the matter. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

If you don't already have a dark metallic paint, you can just blend your favourite silver or whatever with black, browns, blues etc. On top of this (or instead of if you wanted) you can glaze any dark colours over the surface.

This is something I'd recommend playing around with yourself, see what you come up with. It's very rewarding and you might just come across something that you won't find in an existing guide.

As Einion has said working an existing metallic colour with additional colours to alter it is probably the easist way to go.
Thin paint is definitely your friend on this effort.

I'd try to google some photo references about Black armour; I know that the NY Met museum has a Black armour reputed to have been made for King Henry VIII, look at that for a reference.
Also http://www.coolminiornot.com/articles/1649-metallics is one of the best articles around on painting metallics.
