i dont think andrea will paint the minis to that standard.

Well as far as I\'m aware andrea as some of the world\'s best painters. And the world\'s best sculptor too in my opinion :p

James,
Frontier hve them, not cheap tho

...and they are re-casts so be wary of quality.

I\'ve got 3 re-casts from the UK which are woeful (included the Ra) and 2 from Singapore that are fabulous.

Of course one has to consider the issue of whether or not re-casts of a unobtainable product from a out-of-business company is \"bad\" or not... and then compare it to the difficulties and costs of getting an original.

yeah but do the take commissions to that standard? im not talking about the real andrea studio team.. im talking about the gang who paint the prepainted minis. if you look in the store it says the unpainted price and a painted price.. i dont think they paint it to that standard.. i didnt know the real studio painters took commissions thru andrea

I third the vote of confidence in Orb and Vincenti, both exellent artists. Also check out Avicennas\' work, his armour is fantastic (esp Howling Peaks Champion)!. Better you than me lads! I\'m even too scared to touch My Eldar Revenant at the moment. thats 300mm I think. Good luck folks and look forward to the outcome :)

*Edit* Even as an afterthought, you could post it as a WIP. We get to check out the goods and your not all alone;)

Well I know david does, joaquim does to I think. Jose used to, but you can still try him maybe he\'ll be interested in such a project.
And didn\'t know andrea offered to paint minis :p But don\'t have a clue on who does it because didn\'t see any other painters while I was over there. Does seem strange that they would have their main painters do it though.

LOOK HERE

This is a link to the \"Amazing Figure Modeler\" magazine site....specifically their weblinks.

http://www.amazingmodeler.com/weblinks.htm

There is an article on painting these specific kits by David Fisher in one of the early issues of that magazine.

Or...drop an email to the \"contact\" at Amazing Figure Modeler. There is a whole world of guys ( and gals ) who paint 1/6 scale.

Or try

http://www.kitbuildersmagazine.com/Main.htm

To try and find either a painter or a favorite fig....try this...

http://www.theclubhouse1.net/museum/

I have all 3 of the original Horizon Stargate kits. They are lovely. I\'ll get to them someday......

Best of luck with this.
