looking for critique/ideas/suggetions on this space marine

I am looking for some ideas on freehand for the cloak. Keep in mind that I have never really tried freehand.
Also any suggetions to improve this would be nice as well. This piece is sitting in my display cabinet and may end up on ebay some day.

I like the highlights on the cloak, they seem nicely blended and smooth, as with most of the mini. The only things I can see that could possibly be improved a little are the gold and the armour. The gold seems a little dull and could benefit more if it shines more. Try mixing mythril silver into shining gold as highlights thats what I find works well. The armour could benefit from a bit more shading as it seems a little flat, although it could be the photo.

As for the freehand if you\'ve never tried it before I\'d suggest something simple to start with, such as a line pattern around the edge of the cape or something, but im not so big on freehand myself so meh.

I think this marine is very well done. The most important thing you need to improve is your picture quality.

Like I said: my overall impression is good, but if you want feedback on the details, you\'ll need to come up with a much sharper picture.

Checks,but then I always say that! :flip: A leafy line(like the laurels but straight),simple curving lines in the corners? A simple single gold line often looks good

*Edit*--If you like the check idea but think it may be quite difficult try big chunky checks! They look good and you get more opportunity to shade/highlight in them which is a nice change from trying it in tiny checks lol
