Looking for free webspace

Does anyone know a of a good free webspace provider? I don\'t need that much space, php and other scripting would be nice, but is not mandatory. The most important thing is the advertising: a popup now and then is ok, but I am not looking for one of those providers that insert their own banners into your html code.

I\'ve never had any real problems with geocities (www.geocities.com). 5Mb maximum upload at a time, 15Mb space (I think).

Served my purposes fine. But then your ideas may be more complex than mine (not difficult...)...

Geocities = popups galore

Geocities is one of the worst websites for lots of popups that I have ever seen. I won\'t go to geocities websites anymore, because my poor popup killer often gets overwhelmed... there\'s got to be free webspace that\'s better than that, eh? Although as far as I know they at least don\'t insert banners into your code...

In my experience, if you write your own code for a Geocities site you get one popup ad in the window and one or two outside of it. Their drag and drop page builder may embed more of them, but I never use the thing so I couldn\'t tell you.

Visit my personal site, my hobby links, or my press molding article for examples. If you want popups and lots of them try Angelfire. They suck more than I am able to describe without using profanity.

I visited your site, and the only thing I noticed was this advertising thingy in the top right corner...

Again, I don\'t really need scripting and db support, the most important thing is minimal advertising by the provider...

If you\'re thinking of a game-oriented site, you can try TheWarp.net. I don\'t know how much space they offer and under which conditions, but e-mail them and they\'ll tel you. Their contact addresses are on their site.

You can also try 40K Universe, run by Killdrath, a nice guy from The Millenium Gate forum. Just e-mail him for details; his address should be in there somewhere as well...

Oh, and just to make it count: the last geocities sites I\'ve visited gave me a \"surpassed bandwidth\" crap screen every two minutes, thus ruining my surfing (I was reading connected pages); and on all Angelfire sites I visit I get tired of killing pop-ups after the second click of the mouse...
