Doing this as a favour for my boss who found a Cigar Box full of minis at a local auction. He\'s got a ton of stuff, some of it rather cool. I recognize some really old Ral Partha and some old D&D minis from the late 70s that could be Grenadier or RP. I think some may be Lord of the Rings minis as well. I don\'t know much about historical minis though, plus I\'m not able to provide any finite details on the fantasy minis either. So I was hoping you fine people could help me out here.

What I will do is post these in 6 or so groups, if you recognize something please let me know what group, which picture and which mini, or if you recognize a bunch (which I expect for the polyetheline (sp) historicals), just let me know who makes them and what they may be.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Group 1 - I think these are all old Ral Partha Minis and some look to be Lord of the Rigns.

The group 5 look alot like a set that my dad has around here. His are American Civil War. About what 10mm and he\'s got cannons :D

The last pic of that group look like some of them may be game pieces (Milton Bradley) Not sure, but who knows.

From Group 1, comparing to my blisters that I rooted through... bear in mind that some of these are re-packs, and may have been put into the wrong blisters. They\'re pretty old.

Ok I\'m not too well up on the metals but group 5 the poly are almost certainly Airfix, most of them definitely are as I had them 40+ years ago! The last pic in the group, bottom row 2 & 3 from left are definitely Airfix, maybe no 1 as well. The ice pick is Action Man c1969.

Airfix were OO/HO scale, approx 20mm.
Hope this helps

Thanks for the help so far.

All of these are avaliable for sale and will end up on eBay. If anyone is interested in any of these feel free to pm me with an offer and I will pass it on to my Boss.

For group 4, is there a company name or anything on those? My search foo is failing, so without more info all I can tell you is some stuff from memory of something I read several months ago...

These were packed in with a product (tea? coffee? something like that). There are pairs of male and female dancers from a bunch of different countries dressed in traditional garb. They sell on Ebay, though not for gobs of money, but you\'ll probably get more for them if you include the company name in the listings for collectors looking to complete their sets. There is a Web page of info or an entry on Wikipedia or something, but I\'m not coming up with search terms to get me there to pass along the link, sorry.

group 6 I\'ll go with the Kinder Egg theory.... I\'m prettysure on that one...

The group 5 plastics I\'m pretty sure are a mixture of airfix and other subsequent copies...

The bottom set of that group ..pass anybody\'s plastic soldiers .. however I wish there was one of that cowboy being dragged in 54mm that is bloody ace.

The dancers are familiar let me get back to that...

There was something on the base of the dancers, but I don\'t have the in front of me anymore. Van something co... I\'m going to try to zoom in one on of the pics and see if I can make it out.

VAN BRODE CO INC

Seems they are from the mid 50\'s, from a company that originally produced Army Rations.

Info: http://www.lavasurfer.com/prizenside/pi-vanbrode.html

Airfix seems to be right on the historicals. Checking eBay I see some auctions up now with that looks to be identical minis.

Again, thanks all for the help. I thought this would be the right place to turn

:D

Just had a longer look
Group 5, 1-6 include Napoleonic Scots Gurads, British Infantry, Royal Horse Artillery, Hussars. I think there are also some American War of Independence as well.
pic 7, bottom row
Foreign Legion, WW2 Japanese Infantry, WW1 german machine gun crew

I think top row3 & 4 are WW2 british Commando, WW1 American Infantry (doughboys)

Hope that helps.
