Greetings all
If you play D&D and have any chance you may end up playing this module, you probably don\'t want to read any further as it will give a way a bunch of the mobs that your character will face, potentially runing your fun.
I am currently running a D&D 3.5 game and just about to start the module Barrow of the Forgoten King. I\'ve spent some time going through my mini collection trying to find enough models to represent all the mobs in the module and have come up short. I figured this would be no big deal and I would just hit up reapermini.com and get what was missing but even that didn\'t pan out for some of the more obscure mobs. I was hoping someone here could suggest some other places to look or specific minis.
Here\'s what I am looking for:
Undead main baddy - needs to have a crown, plate mail, and dual weilding two swords. So far have settled on reaper 3221 - Barrow Warden Keeper, but it\'s far from perfect.
A snake-man/Yuan-Ti in robes that looks mostly human. Personally every Yuan-Ti I own has a snake head, this guy is supposed to look human except for scales on his brow and bald head. I have a Yuan-Ti mini I could use but it will give away the \'secret\' right away.
A Nagatha - never even heard of this thing, guess it\'s in Monster Manual IV (which I may have to pick up before the game).
A Plague Walker - some kind of big bloated zombie thing. Again from MM IV I think. I have zombies I can use, but thought there may be something out there.
A Heucuva - again I have generic undead I can use, but maybe there is something better I don\'t know about.
A Fossergrim - can\'t even find a pic of one of these, may just be able to use an elf mini, if I knew what these looked like better then the \'box\' descirption.
The Big one: Varags. This entire module is filled with Varags. I had never heard of them, I guess they are also from MM IV. Some type of mutated hobgoblin. I have some hobgoblins I could sub but wondered if anyone has produced Varag Minis. I need a bunch of them including a Scout, Wariors with scimitars and bows, Varag Zombies with scimitars and a varag rogue. If I have to I will use hobgoblin minis I already have, but again maybe there is something out there I don\'t know about.
Constructs - no clue where I would find tiny clockwork beasties. Technically need a Harrier and Assaulter and 2 Distracters. These are described thusly:
\"animated smoke with luminous eyes and a humanoid form\", \"vaguely humaniod creature that looks like it\'s made of stone but covered in dark spatters and has burning eyes, each of it\'s four apendages is a long spike, two of these it runs with with good speed.\" \"A black metallic animallike creature tumbles, it\'s four pawlike limbs used to run and supports it\'s oversided jaws fill with sharp teeth\" No clue on these ones.
Leeches - a giant one and two swarms. I have a carrion crawler that will suffice for the large one but not sure on the swarm, may sub scarabs.
A Lurking Strangler - this a a messed up creature that is basically two eyes connected by veins and such. Beholders keep them as pets. Cool mob, but no clue on what to use as a mini.
A minotaur Skeleton - WotC makes one but its from a really early set of minis that\'s long out of print. Any others out there?
Runehound - messed up dog thing with long neck that comes out of the middle of it\'s back. From MM II or III. Can\'t seem to find anything like this. Sadly may need to use a hyena as it\'s the closest thing I have.
Choker - found a D&D mini for this but it\'s for an out of print set, any others out there?
Ooze - just need one, but would love a set of these. I remember my dad having an old Grenedere set of oozes and slimes, anyone make one of those now a days?
Wolf Skeletons - need 2. Probalby going to go with Reaper 02079: Komray, Dogs of War, but maybe there is something better. GW dire hounds are too big, need to fit in a 1\' by 1\' square.
Okay I know it\'s a long list, but I was hoping someone had some ideas. Any help at all would be apreciated.
