Looking for some feedback

Heya,

This is my first post in the forums. (my history tells me different, but I can\'t seem to remember doing this before... I\'ll have to look into that.) ???

I\'ve been looking at posts here over the last few weeks and find that you guys are a good constructive group and allround nice community so I thought I\'d pick your brains.

This is kind of general but I\'d like some feedback, tips or even do-s and don\'ts on some of the better minis I\'ve painted. I know I can do better but sometimes it\'s hard to see for myself what needs/and how to improve.

Please take a look at my gallery, choose a favorite and go to town.

My gallery

Thanks guys. :)

Maybe, maybe not. This may be more appropriate for the \"Discuss Submissions\" threads -- it all depends on where the replies take it.

I\'ve already commented on this one Magnus the Traitor, its my favorite out of the lot.
I think you have a great style, on how to improve, just keep painting loads of minis to the best you can, go into the online competitions, there for fun, but get you challenged.
And ask specific questions when you get stuck.
Good luck:D

Thanks, that model was a breakthrough for me. I used my first VGC paints to produce it and it\'s now part of my local gaming club\'s trophy.

I plan on using all of this board’s wisdom to help increase my skills. I\'ve entered in a few local painting comps here and have managed to place well in them. I\'ve always wanted to enter an online comp but have always been apprehensive of it. I think it\'s time to take the plunge.
Thanks for the comments you left for Magnus, he\'s one of my faves too.

You certainly have ability.
The first rule of fight cl... oh hang on
The first rule of CMON is thin your paints. Already thinning your paints? Thin them some more!:D
Nothing will give you more control over your highlights or smoothness in your finished model than thinning your paints.

I like your style, I also think you are being underrated in the scores you are recieving somewhat, that seems to be happening alot these days across the whole site.
y favourite for me is the Morbid Puppet I love that mini and you have done a fine job of making it look suitably undead. Also the Goblin with the banner rocks. Keep practising and trying out new things but I can\'t see alot wrong with what you are doing.
Keeping your paint thin is always going to bebefit the final job.
Asalready said the more minis you paint the better you will become but my main piece of advice is keep enjoying what you are doing don\'t feel you have to improve, I think what I am saying is don\'t force it let it come to you.

Don\'t think that scores are being under rated, I think it\'s just a case of the bar constantly being pushed higher.

Nice work there. My one main crit is of the metal work. It looks a liitle under cooked in places - Tim\'s your man there (Tidoco, above!).

Great advice thanks.

I\'m a bit inconsistent at the moment with my scoring. I think because I focus on certain parts of a mini when I\'m working on it and forget about the work as a whole.

Anyway, thanks for the comments guys.
Much appreciated.
